These three songs are all songs they performed and recorded, so I’m afraid Don’t Pass Me By doesn’t fit. They only joked about Paul recording it in a BBC interview, and it wasn’t a complete song at the time.
EDIT: They are all pre-1966.

‘Don’t Pass Me By ‘ was never sung by Paul tho, unless you count a short jokey rendition on the BBC.
‘Matchbox ‘ and ‘Honey Don’t ‘ were both John. John sang on early rehearsals of ‘Good Night ‘ if that counts.

Well ‘I Wanna Be Your Man ‘, ‘Act Naturally ‘ and ‘If You Got Troubles’ weren’t so that leaves ‘What Goes On ‘ and ‘Boys ‘ (unless im being daft). Don’t remember ‘What Goes On ‘ being sung by any other Beatle so will go with ‘Boys ‘, not that I remember another Beatle singing that either.
Edit: Pete Best apparently sang ‘Boys ‘, completely forgot that. I hope he sang better than he drummed.

Boys was originally one of Pete Best’s vocal spots, @meanmistermustard, handed from the old drummer to the new.
Over to you.

Ok. Probably not that difficult but I got nothing else – hopefully my answer is correct, am going off memory. If not then apologies in advance.
Name the four original (ie not cover versions) Beatles numbers recorded at the BBC that have yet to see an official release?

I don’t have an answer for mmm’s question yet (will have to work on it), but I wanted to make sure I understand the answer to RN’s question. The 3 are: Boys , Matchbox , and Honey Don’t . The Good Night one isn’t correct. Right?

Yes.
Tho John did sing on rehearsals of ‘Good Night ‘ it was only to give Ringo an idea of how to sing it.
Paul speaking about the song in ‘Many Years From Now’
I think John felt it might not be good for his image for him to sing it but it was fabulous to hear him do it, he sang it great. We heard him sing it in order to teach it to Ringo and he sang it very tenderly. John rarely showed his tender side, but my key memories of John are when he was tender, that’s what has remained with me; those moments where he showed himself to be a very generous, loving person. I always cite that song as an example of the John beneath the surface that we only saw occasionally… I don’t think John’s version was ever recorded.

Trick question, there isn’t 4, there isn’t even 1:
Wikipedia says
The selected songs included “I’ll Be on My Way“, the only Lennon–McCartney composition that the Beatles recorded for the BBC with no available studio version.
I like learning about The Beatles.

Does @Dark Overlord have the correct answer to your question, @meanmistermustard? I am guessing not, but am struggling with this myself? Are you including short ad-libbed songs? Are you also including recordings past their last proper BBC radio music show in 1965?
Are we talking things like Chrimble Mudley and All Together on the Wireless Machine?

The question was
Name the four original (ie not cover versions) Beatles numbers recorded at the BBC that have yet to see an official release?
I guess the question is open to interpretation; official release refers to the two BBC volumes. All four were recorded during the 1962 to 1965 period and were released on the studio albums.

Now I get it, I thought you meant 4 songs that were never recorded on a studio album but were recorded for the BBC.
Now I can answer the question:

Who played acoustic guitar on Another Girl ?

John Lennon played acoustic guitar on Another Girl .
Which takes of Strawberry Fields Forever are heard on the official release?

It may seem like John plays acoustic guitar on Another Girl , but that’s not the case.
