What did George do after he got a black eye?

He said, “I’m gonna get that boy.”

What was Ringo’s album title suggestion for the record that was eventually named Revolver ?

Ringo’s suggestions for the title of the album that would eventually become Revolver were

1. ‘Ringo, John, Paul and George – in that order!’

2. ‘Ringover – Featuring Yellow Submarine and 13 Lesser Tracks’

3. After Mass – Specifically for their Catholic fans, and a witty pun on the Rolling Stones’ Aftermath.

4. The Rise and Fall of Ringo Starrdust and The Spiders from Mars.

What song did John Lennon take the opening words to Run For Your Life from?

Trick question.  John adapted the opening words to Run For Your Life from a Monty Python movie…

The man on the flying pie who appeared before the young lads and proclaimed “From here on you will be Beatles with a dropped T” as he handed them a drum head he’d prepared earlier.

Why was Paul counting in Taxman and not George?

Paul wasn’t actually counting in the song, he was counting George’s money! He was the titular Taxman ! a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

John used to sneak off and sleep-gamble with Paulie’s grandfather at Le Cercle Club.  His habit became so bad that he even had to have a stand-in during the Can’t Buy Me Love scene in A Hard Day’s Night .

Who stood in for John in that scene?

Rita was a (presumably) low-paid civil servant, while Linda was a wealthy groupie socialite. Yet it was Rita who paid for dinner.  That takes it in my book.

To be honest, with both a flat top AND hair going down to his knee, I don’t think anybody really paid attention to the colour of it.

The deafness was caused by hearing the sonic equivalent of that image, which I’m pretty sure has momentarily blinded me. They regained their hearing after John’s mellifluous words restored their ears.

Who gave John these remarkable vocal powers?

It is said that young John Lennon was brought up by his sole aunt, and learned music skills from her. When she died, young Lennon became disillusioned, and lost all passion for the art. However, he eventually found a job as the main vocalist and guitarist for a young ragtag band, ‘Johnny and the Moondogs’. Poor John was still passionless, a shadow of his former self.

Then one day, a man who proclaimed himself as the ‘Angel of Music’ came to John Lennon and bestowed to him a wonderful voice, to which Lennon strived to become. Indeed, the Angel gave him secret lessons, and Lennon in the end possesed one of the greatest treasures ever bestowed to the human ear. This is why ‘Let It Be ‘ was actually written by John, rather than Paul McCartney , who was jealous of John’s superb singing that he plagiarized it and call it his own, the hack.

The Angel is also responsible for changing the band’s name to ‘The Beatles’, because she thought the old name was ‘awful and frankly, dumb’.

What was the inspiration behind “Think For Yourself “?

People kept asking George if they could borrow his brain for a moment to think a thought, giving some weak excuse like “I’d use mine, but I appear to have accidentally left it at home”. Because George very much needed his brain to think his own thoughts, as well as due the sheer number of people asking, he quickly got fed up, and thus “Think For Yourself ” was born. Additional fun fact: the very same brain that inspired the song was also used to write and record it.

Why does the McCartney album cover feature cherries, and a bowl of red liquid?

Once Linda, tired of seen Paul angry with his band mates, told him:
– But Paul, they are your friends! they love you and you love them too!
To what Paul replied:
– Friends? Love? Hahahaha…!! To me they are just like …red cherries! The only thing i’d love to make with them is to put their red liquid into one
of my recently aquired IKEA’s bowl!!

Which Beatle said this: “I’m So Tired of being a Beatle that even if i’d be one of the Rolling Stones i wouldn’t like to be a Beatle either”

That would be the relatively unknown Gummo, who left the band to join the war effort just before real fame hit them, saying, “Anything would be better…” It was later revealed that this statement was the inspiration of Getting Better .

What exactly did Paul mean when he sang “show me round your snow peaked mountain way down south”?

no but in all seriousness (or as much seriousness as this thread calls for) what was the B-side to the Beatles’ 1965 hit “She’s Got A Ticket To Rye”?

What’s the point? It’s not as if anyone will be watching us.

What was unusual about the guitar on which George played “Don’t Bother Me “?

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.
