Aha, this is an easy one.. if you raise the contrast by 16 quintillion% you can very easily make out the faces of Karl Perkin’s cousin Barton Perkin, a dead Milkman, an 80 year old man of no distinguishable position, Winston Churchill (nude) and Adam Ant.

Liquorice. He kept it there because it didn’t really notice on stage, and in case he got a bit peckish between songs.pete-best

What was the originally proposed setlist for the rooftop concert?

Liqourice is correct! Pete liked a good nibble.

Im an expert on rooftop concert trivia, as I was the roof. The first draft of the setlist was

1)You Know My Name (Look up some numbers)

2)what’s the new Mary Janet

Buckle)Beethoven’s 9th (this was cancelled as Paul McCartney and Ludwig Van had serious personal issues at the time)

My)Ouch!

Shoe)Take out some life Insurance on my baby

Since @Hazza didn’t ask a question, I’ll take it upon myself to ask,

what was the beef between Ludwig and Paul?

It all started when Paul suggested Ludwig play a piano part on Martha My Dear just so, but Ludwig wouldn’t listen to anything. This, along with Ludwig’s misplaced belief that McCartney was the ‘quiet’ Beatle exasperated Paul so much that he wound-up tellling Ludwig that he wrote Because (the only Beatle song Beethoven enjoyed) just to get some credit.

How many songs (credited to Lennon-McCartney) did Ringo actually write for the Beatles?

All bar Yellow Submarine – he never liked it, and the only reason he sung it was because the others made him. He was more talented than people made him out to be…

I don’t want to seem like a fake fan but I reckon the usual “Marks and Spencer’s Spaghetti Carbonara” sums it up perfectly. I did anger me when Egypt station came out and all the radio stations were talking about the Pastacartney incident.

Which Beatle played the famous television surgeon “Doctor Who” after receiving plastic surgery?

Savoy Truffle . It can be heard (as expected) during the line ‘you’ll have to have them all pulled out after the Savoy Truffle . The model Klaus used was an Philips Sonicare repainted by The Fool. It was later sold at auction for £1.29.

In which song can somebody (possibly Ringo or Geoff Emerick) be heard shouting ‘I’ve got blisters on me fingers’?

I used to “play” my guitar by taking an electric toothbrush (or occasionally a small handheld battery operated fan) and activating it near the pickups, creating a cool electronic whining sound! AVANT-GARDE!

That would be the Hollywood Bowl version of “Dizzy”; the remark came not from Geoff or Ringo, but from a 13-year old fan in the 13th row, Carole Markowitz. Her fingers were raw after 30 minutes of clapping, biting them (to suppress shrieks), and other activities.

Who are these people and what is their place in the Beatles’ story…

They would be (from left to right – Pattie, Maureen, Linda and Yoko. The four (at the time) wives of the Fab Four. Cynthia took the photograph.

What event convinced Paul to grow a moustache in 1966?

Seeing Maureen grow a beard – Paul was always super-competitive with his bandmates’ wives.

How did the Beatles react to Beethoven’s answer record, “Roll Over Ringo”?

They did just that. They rolled over Ringo, and they liked it. It was fun. And then someone, probably Paul (as he was really jealous of Ringo’s inability to play drums), suggested the idea of rolling a big joint with Ringo inside. So they wrapped good old Ringo inside a cigarette paper and smoked him and flew away. And that’s the beginning of the RID myth.

What was Yoko’s reaction when George ate one of her famous biscuit-shaped poems?

She insisted he spit it all out, but after some bargaining she allowed George to keep the Zs and Qs.

Ringo’s lyrics (which were removed to make way for a guitar solo by Paul – which was in turn removed (at George’s insistance) and replaced with an extract from a televised adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing  – which was removed (at Yoko’s insistance) and replaced by various sound affects including a cow being milked, a cash register, a guillotine, an apple being eaten, and a Volkswagen Beetle – which was removed and replaced (at Paul’s insistance) by ….) is as follows:

Whatever happened to, yeah, Back Off Boogaloo?
Is Paul really the best Beatles drummer?
Where is the peace and love that used to mean so much?
It always made me feel so…. Free As A Bird

That would be “One For Capitol” (aka “Dave Dexter Blues”), an improvisatory 9-minute Dylanesque talking-blues in which John speculates about the band’s American label building an entire new album around the performance itself, while laughing at the idea of having fewer songs than George on their version of “Revolver “. The others thought he was being self-indulgent and paranoid, and vetoed.

Why was “Kansas City /Hey” banned from radio airplay in that city?
