Offline In 1822, the Conservatories wore buttons on their hats that bore the slogan “It can’t get much worse” while the Labouratories sported cravats that showcased the slogan “It’s getting better”. The latter believed it was getting better because of the scientific breakthroughs they were making in the Labouratory laboratories. That included the first ever man-made life form which was “Puck” the wonder dog who was featured prominently on their campaign leaflets. Sadly, not knowing when to quit while they were ahead, the Labouratory scientists then created “Whimsy” the not-quite-up-to-wonder-status cat. When Puck chased Whimsy off into the fading sunset, both never to be seen again, this prompted a change of slogan for the next election to “We’re doing the best that we can”.
Always looking to break new ground, The Beatles wanted to create an album that was not round in shape. This was during the recordings that would eventually become Revolver . What shape were they considering and what was to be the name of the album?

Spinny Four Sided Thingy was recorded on a pinwheel shaped record. They eventually decided that a normal round record is really close to a pinwheel and that they shouldn’t spend the extra money.

Trick question – a conflation of two separate facts. Ringo did in fact have a profitable side career STARRing in a series of low-budget Westerns, usually as a bejeweled, black-clad gunslinger…but they were AMERICAN films made in Hollywood, U.S.A., far away from the Spanish/Italian terrain where that particular European variation of the influential American film genre flourished. And while Ringo did briefly consider taking a role in Sergio Leone’s “A Mouthful of Bullets”, he ultimately decided against it, due to the excessively spiced food provided on the Iberian Peninsula. JOHN, however, did write/direct/star in “Western Spaghetti”, a savage surrealist critique of the Western world’s inadequate food distribution practices and global nutritional inequality in general, which he subversively tacked onto the MMT film.

Offline Trick question: it was actually a book which compiled the best entries from Hoarse Rogering’s advice column. It was titled Don’t Bother Me : Advice from a Guitarist 1964-1974.
