It was written by an actual octopus. Reason: She was tired of simply wasting her ink with nothing to show for it, and decided one day to use it to put down a song onto paper.
How did Ringo come to claim a songwriter’s credit for OG?

The octopus in question was a mad Ringo fan and felt he would be the perfect vehicle for her song. She gave it to him in a dream and he assumed that, like Paul with Yesterday , he had come up with it.
What did Ringo do with a little help from his friends?

That’s quite possibly the funniest post in this thread that I’ve read for a while @vonbontee.
Carrying on…
The scene was the beach scene – it was called the Oscar scene because their director, Oscar O, cut it just before release.

Well, it was actually Ringo who put his hole against the bubble’s surface, causing it to burst. So they were all right there, watching.
What was the bubble made of?
a) Soap
b) Blue glass (from Kentucky)
c) Futuristic monosolopolythelenepam plastic
d) Sweat, blood, and the ecstatic tears of virgin Beatlemaniacs
3) Other (fill in the blank) _______

The setlist consisted of The Beatles each reading an article of that day’s Daily Mail newspaper to the audience, and no music. Despite this, it was an iconic concert because it helped boost the newspaper’s sales amongst the younger hip crowd. Subsequent issues featured front page slogans such as “READ ABOUT THE PUBLIC AFFAIRS, JUST LIKE RINGO!” and “JOHN READ THE SPORTS PAGE. HAVE YOU?” Eventually, the short lived fad of rock bands reading newspapers on stage ended after Pete Townsend and Keith Moon deliberately tore their copies up at the end of a gig, causing an outrage from the Associated Press.

Ringo left his suitcases of beans and the other three left all the songs they wrote while there. The beans were promptly consumed by the locals, while the songs were never heard from again. It is presumed that they returned to the cosmic consciousness.

Ringo, assuming “very clean old man” is an obscure slang term for drums.
