In the song Rising Sun, what rises?

Bread. George loved his toast, he even ate the crusts. ahdn_george_06

What was the name of the 1983 track written by George as a tribute to John that featured Paul and Ringo?

Eric Griffiths, Colin Hanton, Rod Davis, Pete Shotton and Len Garry.  (If you don’t consider the Quarrymen and the Beatles to be the same band, that’s your problem.)

Which of the users on this site is Paul McCartney in disguise?

Murray The K was hiding behind a bush watching the whole thing.  If this group became famous, he would then come forward and name himself the 5th Beatle.  If not well… he heard that Dave Clark was going to meet Mike Smith at Harrods in a week or so.

Why was the Beatles performance of Hey Jude on the Smothers Brothers show so similar to that on the David Frost show?

Oops, I was too slow.  Necko was responding to same question and posted before me.  I guess next person can choose which question to answer.  Or do both if you have the guts.

Hearing John play it over and over in Rishikesh. When he got home he wrote all he could remember down, brought it to George Martin, and recorded it before the others returned.

Why did Ringo leave Rishikesh in advance of the others?

He “ran out of disposable razors” and said he’d “just pop down to the shops”. When later asked why the shops were suspiciously far away in England, he blamed George for misdirections. That was the end of free tabla tuition for Ringo!

Those who like buns.

The Beatles went through an extraordinary bun phase in their songwriting, Happiness Is A Warm Bun, Here Comes The Bun, Bun King, Mother Nature’s Bun, Baby You’re a Rich Bun, Bun Jay Way, Only A Northern Bun and an early classic, the double A side Paper Bun Writer/Bun. Lennon and McCartney actually considered Strawberry Buns Forever/Penny Bun but were dissuaded by Martin who pointed out they’d already done it.

What was it with all the buns, and couldn’t they write some nice songs about lizards?

What’s funny is that sometimes we get steamed buns at the local Asian market (yum yum), and the packaging says ‘Bun King’ with a happy little bun with a crown.

What was it with all the buns, and couldn’t they write some nice songs about lizards?

Buns go back to the good old Liverpool days, when they used to hang round George’s place and his mum would give them all buns if they played well. The bun became a measurement of performance for them (e.g. ‘That’s a triple-bun take, we’ll keep it’).

Until one day, when they were having tea, a herd? flock? gang? pod? gaggle? of flying lizards came in through the bathroom window and ate up all the buns. At first the Beatles were upset, but it led to John’s eventual lizard obsession.

What was the name of the Beatles’ 1977 experimental progressive new-age punk disco album with Pink Floyd and George Winston?

Star Wars

Apart from the film which shares the name of the above album, what was Ringo’s favourite film?

Yes, even though he claimed that ‘Starr wasn’t even the best pilot in Starr Trek’.

Which artist other than the Beatles got his name on a Beatles record?

Sgt. Pepper ’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

‘Scrambled Eggs’ by Paul; ‘007 Man’ by John; ‘Karma (You Only Live Twice)’ by George; and ‘Bond, James Bond’ by Ringo.

How many Beatles were actors?

None of them, though they all were in films.
