Glen Michael. He got the job after the Beatles saw him presenting ‘Glen Michael’s Cartoon Cavalcade’ on television whilst up in Scotland. Ringo particularly was a huge fan and was guest presenter in 3 episodes in 1968 hence his absence from the recording sessions for ‘Back In The U.S.S.R.’ and ‘Dear Prudence ‘.

It was Paul, he cheated by telling John his egg was hatching into an iguana. They all punished him by beating him with their spoons to the tune of Your Mother Should Know sung delberately out of tune:
Let’s all get up and beat Paul with spoons
Because he cheated in our egg and spoon race!
What a big cheaty cheat cheat cheat is Paul,
The Beatles say no, to cheaty Paul no!
Hit him again!
Lift up your spoons and beat me a song
Make sure you hit the cheat that we know as Paul
Though he was Paul before he cheated like a cheat,

…you get the idea. Paul was very very sorry and apologized and they forgave him and they all went for a splendid afternoon tea of cake biscuits and lashings of ginger beer.

Omelette – Jane messed up brunch and Paul was served Scrambled Eggs. This resulted in the change of sentiment in the lyrics as Paul was really looking forward to his ham, cheese and mushroom omelette.
