They kept turning up at the foot of their beds going OOOO. Disconcerting.

Why did George refuse to allow the release of Paul’s masterpiece Carnival of Small Furry Animals Grooving With A Pict?

Why did George refuse to allow the release of Paul’s masterpiece Carnival of Small Furry Animals Grooving With A Pict?

He wanted to release his own masterpiece Here Comes Love Within You To Without The Inner Something

How many times did the Beatles perform ‘What’s The New Mary Jane ‘ live?

At every single concert they ever performed. They usually tacked on an extended jam in the middle, often lasting thirty minutes or more.

When was John Lennon ‘s autobiography published, what was the title of the book, and what controversy did it incite?

It Was All Me Not The Other Three was published in 1979 sparked dissent from his fellow Beatles, particularly George who complained he wasn’t even mentioned.

What competing autobiography did Paul publish and what did he specifically contest with John’s version?

It Was All Me Not The Other Three was published in 1980.  Paul took credit for everything except dying in 1966 and having a “supposedly massive ego.”  George responded by publishing I Me Mine , named after a song he wrote about ego.  Ironically, his book had little to do with ego and was mostly a book of guitar tabs, mixed with the occasional bit about Hinduism.

How did Ringo respond to all of this?

It Was The Other Three Not Me – a three page postscript written it crayon issued at the end of 1980. It was critically and commercially acclaimed for its lack of insight and oneupmanship.

How did George Martin respond to all of this when not asked?

All You Need Is Me, published in 1978, claiming all the good ideas first. “Who asked you?” quipped Lennon famously.

Many say The Fool On The Hill was Paul talking about himself, but who was he really writing about?

Little known fact: It was actually written as ‘The Pool On The Hill’.

But Paul could not read his own handwriting when recording began and was too embarrassed to correct his mistake in front of the others.

I Should Have Known Better , sung by John’s mother, inspired Paul to write a song telling John that ‘though she was born a Long, Long, Long time ago, Your Mother Should Know .’

When did Stuart Sutcliffe die?

When did Stuart Sutcliffe die?

Too early but he lives on in his art and Beatles influence (didn’t feel write making a silly comment on that heartstuart-sutcliffe apple01).

Why did Ringo touch that button in ‘Yellow Submarine ‘?

Ringo is a born button-pusher, as well as a born lever-puller.

Who was invited to join Ringo’s All-Starr Band, but was ultimately unable to join?

Adam’s Video Store, 9th Avenue, New York City – 27th February 1980 (note the date adds up to 9).

By sheer coincidence John was in picking up his reserved copy of ‘The Jerk’ (he had links being John Lennon ), Paul was returning ‘Star Wars’, George was browsing and Ringo had stumbled in thinking it was Adam’s Liquor Store on 5th Avenue hoping to get some beers before heading back into the studio.

What was the outcome of this by-chance gathering?
