The universe, man. It’s all one, y’know, the flowers, the birds. Me and you and John and the Prime Minister, we’re all a part of each other, y’know, man?

Paul and Pete (but Paul later claimed it was all himself).

They actually all shared the same birthday, but Brian Epstein thought it would make them less appealing to their fans. The lyrics in ‘Birthday ‘ were a subtle hint at that little gem of information.

What star in the solar system was the basis of a song written by George?

He wrote about Jupiter’s moons. There were so many of them that he kept going ‘Here comes the moon‘- another one- ‘the moon’- another one- ‘the moon’- another- ‘the moon’- another- ‘the moon…’ etcetera.

‘All Good Children Go To Heaven’.

A compilation of the Beatles counting in songs. It was decided however that the title was too confusing for fans and they might think it was another comment on religion. Apple were tempted to go ahead due to protesters buying copies of the album just to burn it but decided against it at the last minute. Copies survive however and can be found if you seek.

How many people feature on the cover of Sgt Pepper ?

Sacrilege! You must educate it. It must be shown to the One True Light! (In other words, can’t you ‘add to dictionary’?)

At what venue did Ringo first play drums with The Beatles?

Candlestick Park, August 1966. Up till that point he had still been learning to play, so they always hired Jimmy Nichols to do their concerts.

How many guitars did George play at once?

We All Live In a Yellow TV Studio began as straight variety with singing acts, magicians, and interviews but due to boredom, starting with John, it descended into a involuntary roast of the guests, some of whom never forgave the Beatles for the more acerbic quips. Peter Sellers refused to speak anything other than German, causing more than one Beatle to shout German obscenities until Sellers, giving up, ran offstage and never went on talk shows again. Tom Jones famously threatened to smack George “one so hard it’ll flatten your nose” to which George replied “oh that’s what happened, I wondered what was wrong with your face”, precipitating the throwing of chairs and Jones’ forcible removal by security. On the other hand, they were often more than gentlemanly with female guests (said to be because they were watched like hawks by their wives), and of course Cilla Black had a permanent singing spot.

Who was Eleanor Rigby rumoured to be?

^ Grand stuff that, I had a good laugh. Am I the only one who read George’s line in a George voice?

The same color as blue toilet water after you’ve peed in it.

What aquatic creature was the muse for Ringo’s ‘Octopus’s Garden ‘?

Mermaid Man (and Barnacle Boy). To avoid a lawsuit Ringo was advised to change it.

How long did it take for the Beatles to record their first LP for Parlophone?
