Name the first official Parlophone Beatles album in the UK not to reach number 1.

The White Album . The reason it didn’t reach #1 is because…

no such album ever existed!

Twelve, actually. John tended to exaggerate slightly.

The holes in Blackburn, Lancashire. Ten of the twelve were in the street in front of her house.

Who was she meeting at nine o’clock on Friday morning?

The song was ‘What’s This Thing Called? Love?’. Too bad their knowledge of the correct use of punctuation wasn’t keener. Ironically, it was covered by two bands that used punctuation even worse; We The, People and :oscopy.

In ‘Penny Lane ‘, why did the fireman rush into the barber shop?

His fire engine had run out of water so he thought to connect his hose to the shop’s cold water tap. The barber refused. It became a national sensation, hence Paul referencing it in the song.

Why did she come in through the bathroom window?

Whirligig. Wasn’t planned but worked out well.

  1. a toy that spins round, for example a top or windmill.

  2. a small black predatory beetle which swims rapidly in circles on the surface of still or slow-moving water and dives when alarmed.

Why did john advise ‘Run For Your Life ‘?

Which club in Liverpool did the Beatles make over 270 appearances in before their final performance in August 1963? (If stuck see spoiler.)

An umbrella, as it was raining. In truth, it was sunny in Manchester, and John Lennon was 3000 miles away that day.

How many toes do all the Beatles combined have? (Hint: If you know 1 Beatle=20 toes, multiply by number of Beatles to find the answer.)

23 toes and a stub.

Pete Best’s talent. Sadly he only got a plastic guitar for it but it did come with a microphone which helped with Paul’s singing.

The fact that they had to have them all pulled out after the Savoy Truffle … George was highly amused, and so he wrote a song about it.

In what municipality of northern England were all four of the Beatles born?
