I don’t know about the intro lick, @sir walter raleigh, but the ending of The Ballad Of John And Yoko was very similar to Lonesome Tears in My Eyes .
@Dark Overlord still needs to choose a question.
BTW, it was unclear from your response to his answer to his last question whether you had accepted ‘Musketeer Gripeweed’ as being correct. It is correct. Gripeweed was a private in the 3rd Troop, the 4th Musketeers.

I think you’re referring to the argument on 6 January 1969. While The Beatles were recording Two Of Us , George and Paul had an argument in which George said the famous line “I’ll play whatever you want me to play, or i won’t play at all if you don’t want me to play. Whatever it is that’ll please you, i’ll do it.”

We need to decide what we’re going to do with this. It seems safe to assume, at least for the foreseeable future, that Dark Overlord has left the forum.
He was logged-in for a little while on Thursday (evening, for me), and then went on to delete his guitar forum and Facebook page.
At least we know he is still alive and kicking, but his actions on Thursday seem to indicate that he does not intend to return, and so we need to decide what we’re going to here.
In my opinion, this game has played largely well, and it would be a pity to watch it go down because of DO’s problems, but the result of this round of the game now seems out of balance because of the amount of questions already answered by DO.

Thank you for the information about Dark Overlord, it’s so very relieving to hear that he is alive and everything. I hope he’s doing well.
You’re right, it was a funny little game and what I really liked is how much one learnt from it, so it would be a pity to drop it. Maybe one could start a new round and I think, considering your huge advance before Holey and me, you would be the rightful game master, Ron Nasty, if you wanted to do it.
Edit: However, I think I will take a break from this game for next round as school is about to start again and I don’t know how busy I will be.

I agree that this round that was run semi-successfully should end and Ron Nasty should take over as game master. I’m excited to be a player.
@Ron Nasty i’m calling this one and handing it to you. Good to hear about DO as well.

Very relieving to hear that Dark Overlord is ok, even if he might not come back for a while.
I agree that this game was awesome, and I’d be eager to play again! But that means we only have two players, so we need to find some more!

Thanks all for the response. I thought it important not to let this game die a death as it is a good variation on my idea.
I suggest starting a new game on 1 October, which will allow those of you who still have school to settle into your new year of education (would you be prepared to not disqualify yourself immediately on that basis, Martha?). It gives me time to come up with good questions, though not the way of presenting them as sir walter had as I don’t know how to do one of those, but I will stick to the format. And, hopefully, more people will join in.
The one difference I would be making is to encourage people to research their answers. I have no problem with that, and do not consider it cheating. My original idea was always for people to learn more about The Beatles, and how can that be done without a bit of research? It also allows people to be braver in the level of question they choose.

That said, @sir walter raleigh, I have in the last few minutes thought about adding a sixth category: Pot Luck; it could be a question that could fit into the subjects, or something completely off the wall – like, obviously won’t be used, connection between The Flame and The Rutles?

I’m saying that question won’t be used, but is the type of question, at around the 400-600 point question, that could have been of used in my idea of adding a Pot Luck category, @sir walter raleigh (okay, I wasted a good question! I will have better questions though!).

That sounds all very great, I especially like the fact that we are allowed to do research as one often learns even more about the Beatles than just the answer to the original question. Thanks also for giving us time to settle down, I’ll gladly join the game as a player then, for the first of October, and am already looking forward to some amazing questions by game master Nasty.

This game kind of got lost in things that were going on forum-wise at the end of last year.
I’m wondering if anyone wants to pick it up again, as I would need at least four players to make it viable.
