Ringo (quote)
I think that was a nicely appropriate picture, SB, and a great song by George.
I don’t know if I would have got the answer without the All Things Must Pass clue, but that’s what clues are for after all.

I wrote ‘Octopus’s Garden’ in Sardinia. Peter Sellers had lent us his yacht and we went out for the day… I stayed out on deck with [the captain] and we talked about octopuses. He told me that they hang out in their caves and they go around the seabed finding shiny stones and tin cans and bottles to put in front of their cave like a garden. I thought this was fabulous, because at the time I just wanted to be under the sea too. A couple of tokes later with the guitar – and we had ‘Octopus’s Garden’!

RichardMy hot take is that after the Beatles split they went down the paths of spiritualism, solipsism, alcoholism, and Paul McCartney

I like Ringo’s description of how Octopus’s Garden came about. I’m thinking of an earlier Ringo quote – I’ll add a hint below.
No (x3):
“Someone’s got hold of my finger”
“I think if a spaceship comes down it’ll probably be the octopuses they talk to”
“I wrote ‘Octopus’s Garden’ in Sardinia. …”
Hint:
1964.

Hey Rich, perhaps this quote regarding Ringo’s reflection on the Beatles first plane ride to the US; “On the airplane, I FELT New York. It was like an octopus grabbing the plane. I could feel the tentacles coming up to the plane, it was so exciting”.

Yes, that’s the quote, @sigh butterfly.
It’s interesting that Ringo described their first U.S. landing as like being grabbed and drawn in by an octopus, followed years later by Octopus’s Garden being his main Beatles songwriting accomplishment.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ringo recently told a story about his break in Sardinia. Ringo said:
The nanny we had with us was carrying Jason who was a little kid, and we were just climbing over rocks, and then she stopped and she said: “Take the baby.”
“What? Take the baby?”
She said: “TAKE the baby!”
So I took my son, and I said: “Well, what’s going on?” – and there was an octopus wrapped around her leg. You know, I would have thrown that kid a mile.

I’ll demur for a little bit with my guess (believe I enjoyed this song while working out an image clue a little upthread)
Just remembered why I had this image in my regular picture game folder. I used it for Yesterday

Nice image clue Rich. This usually wouldn’t have come so easily, but I just finished reviewing the lyrics of every song on Side ! (looking for me light).
Met them all there in the material world
John and Paul here in the material world
Though we started out quite poor
We got ‘Richie’ on a tour
Got caught up in the Material World
