Offline You figured it out @Richard. When I first heard the song I had no idea what John was referring to. Turns out its a common Eastern medicine diagnostic tool to check how healthy you are. Yang and normal indicate a good diet and Yin means you may be overdoing it.

John was the only Beatle who ever actually lived in the Penny Lane district. His address was #9 Newcastle Road.
