I am so tired of people jumping in to grab the answer, without guessing letters, or being prepared to take their turn (whatever the reason).
As this is @Starr Shine?’s game, could I request that a rule is added that if you solve the puzzle you must be prepared to take the next round?

What on earth is the problem?
So I like to guess and solve the puzzles. It doesn’t impact on the game moving on as whoever comes in can get the round and the game progresses. Additionally, I work a lot of long shifts; so either I don’t get to participate, break my work’s rules, or folk have to wait for hours, even days, to get the letter(s), which ruins the game’s flow. Other’s sometimes don’t have the next round ready so offer it up to someone else.
And I didn’t realise you had to guess a letter before solving the puzzle. What happens if you are off the forum for 24 hours, come on, others have guessed 13 of the 25 letters, and you can solve it. Are you banned from doing so?
The games are for all to join in; so long as they don’t take over someone’s round without permission and don’t multi-post lots of guessing of letters.
You don’t like it, fair enough, but don’t go requesting changing it solely for your own preference.

My feeling is that is that you either play the game or you don’t. It always disappoints me when someone grabs the answer in any game here, and isn’t willing to take the game forward, unless it is rare for them to do that. If it is nearly always their contribution to the game, then I consider that as disrupting and derailing the game, as it prevents someone who solves the puzzle and is prepared to carry the game forward from doing so. It’s grabbing the glory without being prepared to put the effort in to keep the game going, in my opinion.
I’d rather someone solved the puzzle, and then took the game forward, as opposed to someone consistently solving the puzzle sooner, and saying whoever gets in first has the next round. It defeats the purpose of most of these games that the winner carries them forward if they consistently opt out of carrying forward.

The game is ongoing as whoever comes in, takes it on and the game continues. Far better that than folk having to wait 3 days for me to turn up and say yes or no to a letter. I work very long hours, 100+ hours over a 12 day period recently, 8 days on in a row, occasionally with 20 minutes notice I have to go in; you could be waiting days for me to say “yes there is an L”.
As said, you consider it, but I don’t see why therefore a rule is requested to be introduced which stops people participating due to circumstance or whatever.
If someone wants the glory I will happily post a picture of a trophy being handed over after they have taken over the next round, like

As the title says
Beatles Hangman (nothing to get hung about…)
So why do so?
“Life is very short, and there’s no time
For fussing and fighting, my friend”
Let it go and try and solve the puzzle before someone else does.

Except, in your last four passes to take your turn, I haven’t seen you offline more than anyone else. I am prepared to wait on the winner of a game, as I sure others are, as we all know life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans, but if the majority of your answers to a game involves you saying you aren’t prepared to take it forward, aren’t you defeating the aim of the game that the winner takes it forward?
I, myself, wouldn’t solve a puzzle unless I was prepared to take the next round. I only wouldn’t take the next round unless I couldn’t come up with something. I really would rather wait on someone, knowing that life gets in the way, than watch someone not playing, and contribute to, the game.

I’m mixed, while I’m not a fan of people grabbing the answer while then not giving another word, I know that if that was implemented, less people would play the game.
I say it is a good rule of thumb to prepare a word if you are going to play the game. It doesn’t have to be a difficult word or phrase, my word in the OP certainly wasn’t. A simple word would also make the time shorter so busier people.
Also, maybe having a list of people who are willing to run hangman if an answerer is unable to/ops out of creating one. I’ve played other forum games where a list of replacements is made in the event someone gets to busy. Maybe that could be used?
And anyway, this discussion should be continued here.

The aim of the game is to solve the puzzle. Who takes it forward should be down to whoever solves it. As long as it is passed on who cares who does.
Are you really wanting me to justify how I act on the forum and how my forum life contrasts with my life away from here?
If this discussion continues I’ll move it all to where Anna linked to. Or one of the other mods can now.
@Starr Shine?, thank you for your diplomatic answer.
Let the game continue. Whoever wants it can have it.
