It came in a vision – a man appeared on a flaming pie and said unto them “From this day on you are Beatles with an ‘A’.”

Not in puzzle: R
Someone remind me of the 5 consonants rule. I need to put it in Post 1 of the thread. The current puzzle has exactly 5 different consonants.

The five consonant rule, @Ahhh Girl, is that a vowel cannot be given before five consonants have been correctly guessed. Perhaps more pertinent in the case of a five consonant game, as it is a possible outcome to this round, is that 11 incorrect letters = hangman…
…and you will have defeated us.
I’ll have a T for Teddy Boy .

There is a post (somewhere within this large thread) giving a rule that the poster should mention at the start if a puzzle contains less than five different consonants. If a puzzle has exactly five, there’s no need to say in advance because the standard rules apply anyway.
If you are editing Post 1, maybe put something along the following lines:
To guess a vowel, five different consonants must first be guessed correctly; except if a puzzle contains less than five different consonants, the player should mention this at the start, and all of these consonants must be guessed correctly before a vowel can be suggested.
I hope that helps.
I’ll go with N for Now And Then .
And in the end

We’ve had this in post one for a long time: “To use a vowel, five non-vowels must be guessed correctly.”
Would we want to lower the threshold for guessing vowels if the puzzle has fewer than 5 consonants? Have we ever hung the poor, unfortunate soul? Or have we just kept guessing letters until someone guessed the puzzle?

We could say that each puzzle must contain at least five different consonants. I think I have always kept to that point even when the puzzle has been quite a small phrase.

In the time that I have been playing, we have always continued guessing.
I’ll go with S for Something this time.
