I wanna do the loser’s bracket. I don’t think solo brackets would be good because not all of us have heard them.

I think it will be a bit interesting to try our hands at the “Full career album bracket,” since they’ll be much more to analyze in order to value our decisions
I agree with the Lovely Rita … though I’m a bit sketchy with Paul’s post 1990’s albums! it would be an interesting subject and pit Beatles v solo Beatle albums!

Oh, I haven’t either. The only Beatles careers I could do is George and Paul up till about 1979.

I’ve got John covered fully. George I’ve heard only All Things Must Pass & Cloud Nine . Paul I’ve only heard Ram & Band On The Run (and I think Egypt Station when it came out if it counts). And Ringo nothing concrete, just loose tracks separately, and honestly I don’t like his music. I got a lot of homework to do. So if we’re going for that bracket I’ll probably not participate because I’ve been pretty busy lately to listen to new music

How do you decide the order of the songs in the bracket, that’a huge factor in how things play out.
I took the rankings from the 2018 Poll, and made four different divisions of 32 songs each. I then went up the list, adding a 1 seed to each division, then the two seeds etc. 1 seed plays against 32 seed, 2 plays against 31, and so on.

Here is a playlist I made with everything in chronological order using a combination of singles and albums. There may be a few mistakes or exclusions, but if you want to get turned on to the solo stuff you can try this out. I don’t listen to spotify often but this was a convenient way to assemble the tracklist

I don’t know if I’ll be able to knock a majority in the near future but thank you very much this is super helpful!

Would we rather do the next bracket using the first round users of the last bracket? Or should we make a new one for solo tracks or do one for Albums Beatles and solo included. If anybody wants to try their hand at running a bracket, feel free. Just come up with an idea and make a post saying what it is. Let’s just make sure we only have one bracket going at once.So there are three potential options I’ve thought of
Loser’s bracket
Solo tracks bracket
Full career album bracket
There will definitely be a break between this and the next bracket so this will be open to discussion for a while.
A solo tracks bracket sounds fun, but how would you decide which songs to use?

I Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this previously, but Happiness Is A Warm Gun appears twice on the fourth sheet…
Here’s mine, I’m a little surprised how lennon-centric mine is, and also how closely mine resembles the overall final results…maybe I’m predictable.

I’d say realistically the only solo brackets that would work would be everyone’s ‘most iconic’ album – ATMP , POB/Imagine , Ram /Band On The Run and Ringo.
Something that everyone here should have listened to (or at the very least can easily listen to) 😉 .

Are you saying like we would do brackets with all the songs on those iconic albums? Or just the albums themselves– because I feel like if we do just the albums as a whole the bracket would be very short
Another possible solo bracket would be we just take the top 32-40 of each one of their solo careers, mix ’em up, and then make a bracket out of that (and also obviously exclude things that they were only featured on but aren’t actually they’re own solo work– Paul has a bit with “FourFiveSeconds” and “The Girl Is Mine” and “All Day” etc. etc.)

All the songs.
I can dig that– I’d think that’d be fun (and kind of challenging because I’d have to choose between all my babies but it’s fine heh)

Would you expand it to include the albums up until Walls & Bridges or Extra Texture (last Apple label album, I think)? Seems like a natural time frame? Might be a bit tricky picking the best tracks from each album though?

Well I think each lad would have to have an equal amount of albums and I don’t know how many people are deep into John’s, George’s and Ringo’s albums. I definitely know next to nothing about Ringo’s music.
It’s easier to have the 4 most famous albums fighting against one another

But you don’t want to lose all the great non-LP singles either.
Paul’s catalogue is so much broader and deeper than the others’, it’s hard to think about how to make it fair. It would be easy to pick like 30 John, George or Ringo songs. It would be a LOT harder to narrow Paul down to 30 tunes.
(Why do I now expect to see someone come up with 30 song lists for each…?)
