I know a song that fits all the hints except “2. Paul plays guitar”. Are you sure about that hint, Dark Overlord?
how
I could post the title, but we’re up to 8 hints now, so I would like Dark Overlord just to confirm that “Paul plays guitar” is correct. If it’s the song I have in mind, the Beatles Bible (and other references) lists Paul as playing bass.

No I meant how do you know all these things?!? I was lost on the first hint
Hints 3, 4 and 5 (“Pre-1967”, “Reject” and “First released on Anthology”) are the main guidelines for me. They narrow it down to a fairly small number of songs on the Anthology 1 and Anthology 2 albums. I thought momentarily that it might be ‘In Spite Of All The Danger ‘ but Paul plays that song live now, so it can be excluded. The sixth hint (“Ringo”) helps to narrow it down further.

Though “Post-1962” would count out In Spite Of All The Danger …

Yes, that was my thought before he posted his seventh hint (“Post-1962”).
I have another song in mind that fits all the current hints except I don’t think Paul plays guitar on the song.

There’s only one logical I can see, but that has Paul on bass and backing vocal.

Yes, I expect we are probably thinking of the same song. It fits well with the other hints.

The song was If You’ve Got Trouble , since there’s no rules against using non-canon songs, i thought i’d use this Help ! reject to give you a bit of a challenge.
The Beatles Bible doesn’t mention that Paul played guitar on it. However, these handwritten notes by George Martin make it clear that he did.
Track 2. Paul on Epiphone, George on Gretsch, John on Fender.
@Richard Since you were suggesting that it was this song, your turn.

That’s very interesting, Dark Overlord.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
