I thought it might be interesting to list some of our favorite Beatles “discoveries”, something like this (no particular order):

The Anthology cds and dvds!

One After 909

The BBC sessions (now 3 double cds – I assume those who could got the latest bbc release)

John and Paul’s somewhat autobiographical songs, or songs about their personal lives  (It’s getting better, Flaming Pie , Queenie Eye , Mother , Julia , Hey Jude ), and just how amazing John’s (not to neglect the others, Paul in particular) voice really was, and how John could emote so incredibly (Mother really drove this home – I think John is absolutely incredible on it).  I especially like the fact that John convinced Paul (on Hey Jude ) that the line “the movement you need is on your shoulder” was the right lyric.
