The first two years of being a fan, The Beatles were pretty much the only thing I listened to, and for a while after I started listening to other music it was hard to listen to them. They just became background noise, I had to really be in the mood to listen to them. It was like that for a while. It only happened with the music, though. I still continued to obsess over them and read books and watch their movies during that time.

It happens to me too. It makes me really sad considering they’ve been around for 50 years. I don’t want to lose the magic.
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Ask me this question again in about a quarter of a century…if I’m still alive. Right now, I’m still a kid in a candy shop with their music. I’m learning and hearing new things all the time.

Same here – I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow it or get tired of it. My only problem when it comes to Beatles music is, “I wonder which album I should listen to tonight?”
Nice problem.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

What I find happens with the Beatles is that I occasionally get tired of a certain era of their music. For example, I was listening to Let It Be and found their later stuff to be kind of depressing me. Later on I put on Please Please Me in the car and instantly got hyped when I heard “One, two, three, FOUR!”
I listen to such a wide variety of music, though, that it keeps things fresh. If I get tired of something, I stop listening to it for a while. When I come back to it, it’s somewhat fresh again. Being a fan of such drastically different bands/genres helps. It’s amazing what going on an industrial/proto-punk/acid house/video game soundtrack kick can do to cleanse one’s listening palette.

I think they are talking about the album not the song Please Please Me

Yeah that makes sense. Sorry! Here’s an apple in apology!
