This article tells the story of a woman who claims her father told her he looked after The Beatles when they visited Lubbock, Texas to see Buddy Holly’s grave.

It makes a reference to “beatlebible.com” which I assume is a misspelling of this website’s name.

Interesting story, but I really doubt the term “hippie” would’ve been used in 1965, much less ’64. That’s one implausibilty.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

The other implausibility is that is logistically improbable.

On their trip to Lubbock, besides being “hippy guys,” the Beatles were described as “not super bathers.” Hmm… from their own words, we know that John once “crawled off to sleep in the bath”… He never once mentioned in that song that he took a bath. And Paul described his morning ritual as: “woke top, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head”… again, not even a quick shower. So, maybe there’s some grain of truth to this story. Although I love the image of the Beatles disguising themselves with wigs. I hope they didn’t use authentic Beatle wigs, because that really wouldn’t have fooled many folks. :)
