I read in George Harrison ‘s auto-bio that he and Derek Taylor co-wrote a regular column in The Daily Express during the early days of Beatlemania.
I’m wondering if those columns are available, whether online or through some sort of archive at DE?
Not a bit like Cagney.
That’s a very good question. I’ve never seen them, though I’d love to.
There’s a Daily Express archive site which is searchable, though I think you need to register to get full access.
Derek Taylor reviewed a Beatles concert in Manchester on /1963/05/30/live-odeon-cinema-manchester/
You can manipulate the url to jump to different dates, by changing 11916 to different numbers – it’s easier than scrolling page-by-page. You can only see thumbnails, so registering would be the only way to view full pdfs. I don’t know the dates of George’s/Derek’s columns either.
