I found those 3 videos strange to the point of scarey, especially the guy doing helter skelter.neil-aspinall

Pretty sure George Harrison wouldn't approve of using his song to critique Obama, but it is funny!

Good find Mr. Walrus.

Helter Skelter is terrifying, agreed. And he was hoping that would get him elected president?

Obama's taxation is nothing like Wilson's, everyone but the highest earners are paying less under him than they were under Bush, and the highest earners aren't being taxed at 95%. I still found it hilarious.

And on that note, I enter this. Do Republicans (GOP) realise that Eisenhower taxed the rich at 90%? Or Nixon at 70%? Obama just wants it back to 40% on the top 1%. Why is that so hard?

I'm sure many of them do, but the pressure from the Tea Party is immense.

It is terrifying to imagine that a conservative candidate has to appeal to that lot in order to get elected and serve a second term.

Helter Skelter ” by The Bobs is funny yet disturbing. They're an acapella group and none of the YouTube videos of them doing it do them justice. You must hear the studio version of this cover to appreciate it.

I remember being amused when a friend played me a video of muppets doing “Letter B” on Sesame Street.

Cilla Black was a fellow-Liverpudlian,  Beatles contemporary and sometime collaborator .. which is perhaps why they let her get away with this…

thanks (sort of) to John MEdd for pointing this one out.

Ever since I was little (Before I knew much about the Beatles at all), I've had an addiction to that song. Btw 'Paul' is actually left-handed in that video. Neat muppety details!

(BUMP?)

I came across a version of Day Tripper a black (sorry to be racist) female vocalist was singing it. I don’t even think the singer knows what the vocals mean lol.

Every reality show cover thats ever existed. Unlistenable tripe.

Please Mister Postman – The Carpenters. Bores alone for an eternity.  Heck any Beatle song the Carpenters covered, they all bore along for an eternity.

Some of the Across The Universe movie covers were surprisingly good, but one of the covers that will scar me for life is Eddie Izzard doing Mr. Kite. Oh God , it was so awful.

Their cover of “Ticket To Ride ” is very interesting — it’s like someone said “How can I transform this song into something UTTERLY different than the original?” — but it’s pretty piss poor, nonetheless.  Karen’s affectations with her vocalisms are highly annoying (e.g., pregnant pauses and calculated missteps, etc.).

I like to imagine horrible (or strange) covers, just for fun:

Andy Williams — “A Day In The Life

Santana — “Yellow Submarine

Julie Andrews — “Drive My Car

William Shatner — “I Want You”

Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris — “Come Together

Luciano Pavorotti — “Mean Mr. Mustard” (actually, this one wouldn’t be bad, come to think of it…)

The worst cover has to be Elvis’ version of Hey Jude .

Elvis doing Get Back , admittedly more a jam but it blows. I havent heard his other beatle covers but i would imagine they would be poor especially if the screaming woman he had keep butting in and shrieking (see Suspicious Minds – a good song but those woman get on my nerves).

I watched the George Martin In My Life documentary on tv, well i started to but it had to get turned off as the covers were damn awful.

I’m a lifelong Carpenters fan, and while I don’t like all their Beatles covers, I do love their TTR as much as the original, and have even performed them both.

I liked Jim Carrey’s version of I Am The Walrus , probably because of the music video that came along with it. Sean Connery did an ironic good job “singing” In my life.

When other people sing Beatle songs you notice the lyrics more, they don’t feel the same when the Beatles sang it. I Want To Hold Your Hand sounds weird when it’s sang slowly.

The movie: SPLHCB ruined almost all of the songs, especially the robots part.
