If I don’t compare it to the original, I have to admit I really like this song.
But what happens when you compare it to the original?

Compared to the raw power and beauty of John’s voice and his acoustic guitar the heavy electric guitar solos and everything are embarrassingly out of place.

Inspired by a post by @Dark Overlord in the pet peeves thread:
I agree, some songs that are just vocals and guitar feel too stripped for me, although some of those like Blackbird are great to listen to.
Anyways, some songs should use more obscure instruments like sitar or clavichord or maybe even a bass saxophone.
Here’s a cover of Helter Skelter by a bass saxophone quartet (if you want to know how low a bass saxophone can sound look at about 0:30). It’s so weird I didn’t even recognise Helter Skelter most of the time:

That was quite possibly the funniest thing I’ve seen all month (it is still July I hope), thanks!
Was that supposed to resemble it?

That’s what I asked myself too! I think it was a more free interpretation. I’m glad you liked it, though!

Definitely in the ghastly category. Awful musicianship, I had no idea it was a Beatle cover until the intro ended, and horrific vocals; sounds like Tiffany is trying to put in an angry heavy metal vocal kind of thing at times yet can’t as she doesn’t have the ability.
Never has “Are you ready?” been a more suitable warning for the horrors that are to come.
This made the UK Top 10!!
Oh! Gods of all music, please forgive us for the sins we have committed. Remember that which went before with the original and look towards us mercifully.

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Bleedin’ heck Liam, remember the damn lyrics, will you?! And you call yourself a Beatles fan…
I’d say more sad than funny.

From the bus roof…that’s great. And the little dog was probably freaked out. The white haired was probably the only one who was around in the 60’s listened to Hey Jude when it was released.

Richard Cheese doing Beatles covers again. Yesterday this time. It’s not bad – in fact, I like it – but Richard Cheese always falls under the category of bizarre.

I heard an abysmal cover of All Together Now in a commercial that really soured my mood.

I really enjoy this, but I imagine to most others it would probably fall under the “bizarre” banner here. Unfortunately, I found most of the other tracks to be pretty weak and forgettable Byrds imitations, but there are two or three decent standout tunes including this cover.

I’d say this fits under “unconventional”. I quite like it, though. For my fellow Zoomers, I give you: lo-fi beat(le)s to relax/study to
