And for the sake of completeness, here’s that infamous William Shatner performance.
The video is good though

Heh. This thread is more my speed. There are some decent covers, but I haven't found one where it didn't make want to hear the original. I'll spare everyone the Bee Gees' Sgt. Pepper movie clips.
Personally I cringe when this comes on the radio:
This one kept popping up in my searches, I wonder why?:
Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!
I wasn't sure which thread to post this in, but it just popped up in my Spotify playlist. I love Sparks – I saw them do Kimono My House in London a couple of years ago, and they'll always have a special place in my heart. But this is a bit too ersatz soulful for my liking.

I HAVE UNCOVERED ABSOLUTE BLASPHEMY.
A good friend of mine showed me this a few weeks ago, knowing I'd absolutely HATE it. She knows me too well, I do. Madly so. I know you all will too. Feast your eyes on Hello Goodbye by the JONAS BROTHERS. It's terrifically horrid and cringe worthy to the extreme, so if there are any young-ears in the room, I would suggest they leave the premises; their hearing may never recover.
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!
Ouch. That is bad. I lasted 23 seconds before having to turn it off. I'd not heard the Jonas Brothers before – I think they're a lot bigger in the US (and elsewhere) than here in the UK. Or maybe I'm just not in their target demographic.

They're gods here in Canada, even more so in the U.S. They're baby-Beatles, or at least their reception from the publice is somewhat comparable to Beatlemania but on a much smaller scale. But, nevertheless, they're cried over, lusted after and have their pictures kissed by every adolescent girl both below and above 16. Yech, they're horrid, just mainstream garbage.
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

God , that is horrible. You know what's even more horrible, to the point of being funny? The 10-year-old girls in the comments trying to defend the Jonas Brothers, and miserably failing.

I've read that Joe Jonas's favorite musician is Paul McCartney . This may, at first glance, seem a tribute, but a rock classic has been marred by synthesizers, oddities like their version of the “Heba, heba hello-a” chant that closes the song (which sounds a bit like an acid-trip mantra in this version.) They have tempered the song with a humorous aspect that is just not the songs best suit…. They've sped it up and converted it into a glam-rock piece of work. 2 out of 5 stars.
Kenny Everett: Are you composing this straight out of your head?
John: This is ad nauseum---straight from the mouth that bit me.
Paul: Oo-hoo, it's nice to be here!

OK, this is quite bizarre, and a “cover” too… A CD cover.

For all those who don’t know about Anime, this is the cover of a song album from Rayearth, a relatively old anime.
In Paul’s place is Hikaru, the innocent and brave girl, in John’s place, Fuu, the polite girl, maybe she is there beacause she wears glasses too; in George’s place is Umi, the cynical girl (she resembles me more as John than George); and in Ringo’s place is Mokona, the mascot… Poor Ringo, be compared to a fluffy little beast…
The first time I saw this CD, was in a friend’s house, a beatle fan and a otaku like myself. I found it quite funny and well done. Take a look at the track list:
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Of coarse there’s an anime version.
I’m surprised that I haven’t seen more of this. Wasn’t there an AMV with Beatles?
I’s more like an homage.
Some AMVs:
This is a very good one! “Here Comes The Sun ” + Ghibli films (most of them Miyazaki’s):
“Strawberry Fields Forever ” (unknown cover to me) + Ghibli’s “Neko no ongaeshi”:
A psychedelic song for a psychedelic anime: again “Strawberry…” + FLCL:
This is a well synchronized one: “All together now” + lots of anime:
Another fine job and good choice (thematically speaking): “Nowhere Man ” + Trigun:
Again dope song and dope anime: “I Am The Walrus ” (cover by Bono (who’s a dope too! LOL)) + FLCL:
This anime looks cute, innocent and all, but is the sickest one I ever seen, And was put together with one of the finest, hopeful songs of Macca: “Hey Jude ” (cover by Joe Anderson) + School Days:
Girls and cars: “Drive My Car ” + lost of anime:
This is caviar: “Strawberry Fields Forever ” + Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away”:
Hope you enjoy.
I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Wow, you gave me the internet! The Ghibli ones are cute. It would be interesting if they were the ones doing the Yellow Submarine remake.

You got George and Ringo the wrong way round.
What’s an otaku?
Anime is very weird in my opinion, I used to like it as a kid but now it just scares me.

You’re right, I change George and Ringo’s places. Poor George then…
Well, an otaku is a fan of anime/manga.
Anime is weird, indeed, but, what can I said? I like it anyways.
