The shaven-headed picture is from a bootleg called ‘What A Shame Mary Jane Had A Pain At The Party‘, i think it was its first use.

Here we go, all my own opinion…
John –
Best
Best bloody sideburns in the business. Nuff said.
Worst-
No sideburns 🙁 He doesn’t look right without them.
Paul –
Best
I WANT A BEARD AND HAIR LIKE THIS!!!!! (when I’m older )
Worst – I have to agree with most people here on the mullet and mustache thingy.
George –
Best
DAWWWWW!!!! Even as a hetero male I find this one cute!
Worst
Yeuch! Saw the Real Love video about a week ago and didn’t like his appearance here.
Ringo-
Best
I’ve always thought he looks cool here.
Worst

For my best, I am going to have to go with their 1968 looks, due to it looking more laid back and less girl grabbing.
Here’s the honorable mentions for best looks (remember that some of these are honorable mentions for a reason).
As for worst looks, I’ll be Doctor Sir Mister Professor Captain Obvious with my approach.

Hold it HMBeatlesfan, I like The Beatles TV show as much as the next Beatles fan who was 5 when it first debuted on TV, but you can’t seriously consider it one of their best looks, I mean it’s just The Beatles voicing 4 drawings.

I think John’s best look was the short(ish) hair and round glasses during the Sgt. Pepper period.
While it may be an unpopular opinion, I think Paul looked coolest with his beard during Let It Be .
I like George and Ringo best from A Hard Days Night, although long hair and beard George looks very cool as well.

John Lennon
best: He looked hella cute in 1964 (early seventies when his hair was short is a close second).
worst: I’m really not a fan of the sideburns, or his hair in general. I find this look to be a little scary.
Paul McCartney
best: Paul is just such a cute person, I couldn’t narrow it down to just one best look, so here are two.
worst: I’m not sure why, but I think the mullet was worse without the mustache.
George Harrison
best: George looked really nice during the Help !-Revolver era. His hair was perfect.
worst: There’s nothing worse than a man perm (but George does make them look pretty nice).
Richard Starkey
best: Richy has aged very well. He is such a cute old person, and him wearing a lot of sparkly things and things with stars and peace signs on them makes him even cuter.
worst: I’m really not a fan of sideburns.

I could have sworn I posted here already. Whoops, here goes…
I don’t mind a man-perm done right (such as George’s in ’76), and of course George makes almost anything look good, but I’ve never liked his Jesus-George look during the ATMP era*. By far his worst, in my opinion, was the goatee and bun/ponytail in the Anthology.
My favourite George look? That’s difficult, but I suppose I’ll go with his ’76 look:
Gorgeous hair, great fashion, and oozing charm…
I also like his late ’68/early ’69 look:
His ’87 look wasn’t half bad either, despite — or perhaps because of — the horrid ’80s hair, which actually looked good on him.
Ugh. Just too gorgeous, that man…
Ermmmm…. Paul. I hate the mullet-stache above all else. Best look, probably ’65
or any time he had a moptoppish hairdo.
John: always been partial to his hair in ’65, though overall I think he looked good in 1964.
Worst: he didn’t look very good toward the end of his life, kinda sickly almost. I also dislike the sideburns of late ’67/ early ’68.
Best Ringo:
Worst: I don’t know, really. Very early 60s ,I suppose.
*I just know LPD or some other madly politically correct and/or religious person is going to get on to me for referring to the look as such, but I really don’t care anymore. I’ve explained my reasoning behind the term elsewhere and I don’t want to repeat myself. You can just go stuff it.

Referring to
as being George’s Jesus look surely isn’t a source of complaint? Folk need to calm down a bit or is God really up there fuming at such a comparison? And folk can moan at me all they like.

WHAAATTTT????? I love George’s Jesus look.
*breathes sight of relief* Thanks for freaking out in a different way than I expected, LPD.
Look how clean he is and how luxurious his hair looks. Wouldn’t you love to brush all of that and then french braid it for him?
George in a French braid ! ! !
The hair was utterly luxurious *drooool*, but the very full beard was a bit much… I don’t like not being able to see his gorgeous features very well. That beard isn’t so bad, I’m talking about
George, are you there?
George could have rocked any hairstyle because he had such nice eyes and such a great smile.
Very true! Not to mention the (quite angular) angles of his face, which compliment nearly any style. (As long as you can see them. )

I showed my friend a picture of George from that era and she actually mistook him for Weird Al! I didn’t understand it at first because I’ve seen Weird Al in concert recently, so his more current appearance comes to mind first over what he looked like when he was younger.
Back on topic, though; I actually think George was at his best looks-wise around that time, especially in the Crackerbox Palace video. Very cute in a strange sort of way.

I think so too! A little daft, but extremely charming. At the time, he was moving out of an unhappy period into a happier one, so perhaps that is part of it.

So, I’ve always been a fan of the sideburns Lennon had personally, And I feel the early 1968 look really worked well for him, Literally 1 year and 5 months later he looks like… that. With the Post Beatles life, I liked his little army jacket phase in 1971. It fit him very well. I honestly don’t even know what he was doing in 1979.
James Paul McCartney

Favorite Post Beatles Look: Least Favorite Post Beatles Look:
I always felt 1968 was a more natural year for him, The hair doesn’t look very forced and just kinda sits there. I do like the Let it Be look, but the vibe the look gives off from the film… Yikes… Without the Beatles, I feel 1990 was again a more natural Paul look. I have no idea what his thought process could’ve been thinking in 1974…
Favorite Look: Least Favorite:
Least Favorite Post Beatles Look:1965/1966 works well for George in my opinion, The shaggier hair was a good move after the Mop Top, however, in late 1969… Whoa… Post Beatles, I feel in 1987 George looks very full of energy and happy. While his 2001 look is fine, It’s how sick he looks, I feel bad for the guy.

1969 Long Haired Ringo, I feel looks fantastic. Especially with the beard, looks very mature. I honestly had trouble picking a least favorite, Cause I’ll be honest his pepper look is also great. 1974 Ringo looks just like 1969, so not much to say. 1995.. I don’t think long hair on a modern looking Ringo worked at all.

It’s difficult for me to pin down an absolute favorite look for each. It is easy, however, to pick a worst look and that is any photo of any one of them in which the only facial hair is a moustache. Especially Paul.
He must have felt the same way because by the time of the Pepper release party held at Brian’s place, the ugly ‘stache was gone.
And yet…
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
