I’m such a fangirl that I love all their looks. But I can say I hate John’s sideburns. I just hate t hem.
God I hate those too. Not an attractive look.
For John, best would be around this period for me
Or in 1966, around “Revolver “
worst definitely the Jesus phase. He looks like a raccoon died on his face.
Paul looked lovely around the White Album , particularly in this pic with the minimal scruff:
worst look by far when he had the mullet
I love how George looked around the Help ! period
Worst look probably around “Dark Horse ” cause he was too skinny and dressed kind of whack on that tour.
I love “A Hard Day’s Night ” Ringo
He was just too cute.
I don’t really think Ringo ever had a real “worst look”
"Now and then, though, someone does begin to grow differently. Instead of down, his feet grow up toward the sky. But we do our best to discourage awkward things like that."
"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.
"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

In the first one one, at the turn of seventies I suppose, he had this really cool “colored glasses cap jacket” kind of style, I really liked it, but the second one (although it might be a bit distorted), that beard just makes his nose stand out in a non flattering way and he kinda looks like an alien
w:
Teddy boy George looks so adorable with his vampire teeth and that hair-just HOW did he make it? I’m jealous… Those leather clothes kinda fit him too. But the early bowl cut didn’t suit him at all, it draws way too much attention to his (massive) eyebrows and makes him look almost scary
w:
I think Pau(lie) looks great in most styles, that picture is obviously the same as my avatar, his hair looks sort of curly, don’t you think? Maybe he was sweaty or something? Wearing leather clothesThat must have felt uncomfortable. Grhmm. Now I’m disturbed (with my own imagination) but besides that, I think the Beatles haircut suit him equally well, still does, but I think something drastic happened to his fashion sense after 67 and hasn’t quite recovered ever since (to my liking, at least) and of course beard and mustaches, especially the latter one, look horrid in him, I don’t know what’s in it, maybe it has to do with his “baby face” image and how those facial hair are in sharp contrast to it…

:w
Which era is the leftie taken, -66? Besides the gun, that hair length, and the shirt he is wearing look stunning on him. I’m not really a fan of his contemporary look, it’s ok but that beard…. I really have an issue for facial hair…
w: ( I can’t post it here… Too kinky…Besides, I don’t think he wore that kind of outfit in public, anyway)
Freckles, “bown cut”, leather clothes, makeup applied by Astrid?? Really fit him. Of course, he looks great in anything
And I think Pete always looks pretty much the same, but perhaps he’s better without the mustaches.
I’m sorry about my long-winded, incomprehensible post (especially the part regarding Paul…) I’m typing this too late Well anyway

As a general rule, I’m not a fan of the long hair or the moustaches. Some exceptions, but generally, that is the worst look on all of them, IMO.
So my favourite Beatles look would probably be around Rubber Soul /Revolver -ish.
I was gonna go into detail for each of them individually, but it’s getting late and I probably wouldn’t make any sense.
I think it's great you're going through a phase,

Not necessarily sure I agree with you about the disappearance of his fashion sense post ’67, I think the suit he wore on the front cover of Abbey Road is very sharp and I also think he looks quite cool in a plain black sweater or black blazer/white shirt like in the Let It Be film and rooftop concert. But I certainly agree that he sported some hideous things through the Seventies:
Actually sort of fond of that deer sweater though for some reasonSHUT UP - Paulie's talkin'

Ha, that mulletstache Paul pic is so hilariously hideous! Very Spinal Tap, especially the goofy facial expression. Was that ’74?

Don’t know about the best, but the worst would be Lennon late 60s with full beard, Lennon mid-70s with greasy hair parted down the middle, and McCartney early-mid 70s looking like a Barbie doll.

Best for John: ’66 DEFINITELY; I love his HAIR!!! Worst for John: ’69; he looked like Jesus!
Best for George: ’68; pretty sexyyy Worst for George: ’70; ummm long hair? *vomit*
Best for Paul: ’63; he looked like a little boy Worst for Paul: ’68/’69 around the White Album , but after he shaved; he looked like a girl!
Best for Ringo: ’69 with his long hair; he looked like a GROWN-UP for the first time! Worst for Ringo: ’63; short hair just does not look good on him

Generally, I think their best looks were during the Mad Day Out photo session of July ’68. Worst were anything having to do with pornstaches (Ringo perhaps being the exception).

John and George looked their best in 1961 as young boys in leather pants, jackets, and cowboy boots with their hair combed back. They looked bad with long hair and beards in 1969 and 1970.
Paul didn’t look good in the leather look because his baby face made it hard to look like a tough rocker. He looked his best in a suit in 1963 and 1964.
Ringo looks his best when he has facial hair. I heard that he doesn’t like to shave, so it shouldn’t be hard for him to look great. Ringo didn’t look good in the 1970s.

Thank you! How’re things at Slaggers?
Paul having had this dog makes up for quite a few of his more questionable musical choices. Fake “throaty” shouting at the end of Hey Jude ? Consider it pardoned!
Overall, I think that Paul’s best look is “with Martha”, no matter what the concomitant beard situation is.
Dogs are unfortunately underrepresented in the biographies of the other Beatles – shame really, as John & Yoko would have looked smashing with a Weimaraner during their “berets and sunglasses” phase ca. 1971!

I basically think they all looked best without facial hair, perhaps maybe George, he could pull of both.
Same goes for the long hair.
I think the early moptop doesn’t look all too good on George, as someone pointed out earlier.
I don’t like the way Ringo’s hair looked during Help ! Looked like a coconut.
For the rest they looked pretty good during all those years imo.

It always reminds me of Peter Tork, which is unsettling. Not a good look for either man.

You don’t like Paul’s screamy singing? Not even in Hey Jude ? Don’t get me wrong, I love Martha, but I’d happily compromise her existence to hear him ripping out those amazing high notes.

I suppose I should create a new topic about “Beatledogs”, but I wondered — I heard that Paul named his song “Jet ” after his dog — was it a different breed of dog than Martha the sheepdog? I could have sworn I read him say in an interview that “Jet ” was a sheepdog.

Back on topic. My favorite look for Paul was his full head of hair combed back (and not too long) on the cover of Ram (and also in various photos in the Ram songbook).
For George, I recently saw a photo where he had all his hair pulled up into a vertical ponytail on top — and he pulled it off (pun intended) nicely. I can’t find it anymore.
Ringo has looked best in the 90s with his unshaven look and fairly short haircut.
As for John, I like that virtual lion’s mane he has on the Abbey Road cover.

Good call, his medium-level grizzled look during the Ram sessions worked rather well (similar to when he was India).
