Yesterday on ‘The Crazy Ones’ which stars Robin Williams, this character was talking to Kelly Clarkson about advertising. The show was funny, but I wasn’t pay attention at this moment until she said, “The Apple commercial from 1997 had John Lennon (& few other names I think like Martin Luther King Jr). My ears perked up then.

For Example:
1. I was driving down the street, and in front of me was a restaurant called “Kung Fu Chinese Food” and just as I was driving up to it, Kung Fu Fighting came on the radio.
2. Driving down the street again, listening to The Crunge by Led Zeppelin, and I come to a T-section with a sign in front of me that says “Bridge Closed”, right when the lyric “Has anybody seen the bridge?” was sung.

This one happened a few years ago. I was listening to Help (the song) while driving and was approaching an intersection when all of a sudden out flew emergency vehicles.

We had to tell our life stories for music therapy class and we had to use music with it of course. Some girl told us one of her favourite bands was the Beatles.New soulmate. Yes.
Is she in your class then? It’s good you’ve found someone whom you share your musical taste with. A girl in my class said she was a fan, but I think she was being polite to the new girl or something. Can’t explain it really, but it didn’t seem geniune. Got my hopes all up and then they were right back down again. Could really do with somebody ”real” my age, to talk to about these guys when I get one of my urges to and I’m in a class full of ”normal” teenagers.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

The amount of times I’ve heard that I remember talking about Dear Prudence for about 2 minutes, then the girl looked at me and just said “I only have 1967-1970”. I just let out a sad sigh and walked away…..

Yeah and no..not really. Today she sat next to me during Psychology and I thought I’d discuss with her which Beatles song I should use in my life story, and she said: ”Let it be? Yesterday ? I don’t really know a lot of songs by them..” Ugh. So long soulmate!

*facepalm for her*
In ever day life when I want to talk about The Beatles to someone I think is a Beatles fan, it always ends up “but lets talk about this other band” or “I love The Beatles, but…”.

So does that mean she didn’t know Let It Be and Yesterday or those where the only ones she did know? If the later then it looks like her collection reaches to 1 and then stops like so many. Maybe one say she will look a bit deeper.
Get into a class project with her and then when discussing it outside start slipping in Beatle chat, play Beatle songs in the background and have the odd few pics of the band in your books. I sound like a mad fundamentalist.

There seems to be a few of these ”fans” who only know a few songs… Do I not understand the meaning of ‘fandom’ or something?
On Saturday, a friend of mine and I were talking about this, because he’s big into The Beatles and sports, and I said I like to make a distinction between casual fans and hardcore fans – I think they’re still fans, it’s just a matter of degree. He said he likes to use the word “supporter” to describe the casual fans… and then he gets to joke about athletic supporters. :::rim shot:::

Was watching a documentary on prostitution in Britain the other day (don’t ask) and apparently there’s a brothel across from Abbey Road …

Interesting…I wonder if any of The Beatles stopped by.
