Before but even then you can see her lust of money coming through…
I was at the beach half an hour ago and I saw a Stuart Sutcliffe look alike but he was French :/ Still cute though

Just a couple of hours ago, my husband was helping me find the radio station that @WETSRoosa is on (husband is tech-savvy, I definitely am not) . We found it and tuned in to have a quick listen (this was 7.30pm Aust. 5.30am USA) just as Here Comes The Sun came on. I sat in my home in Melbourne, Aus. listening to one of my Beatle favourites playing on a radio station in Tennessee. Thought that was great!.
Yep, that was part of “Americana Express.” Mike (the guy who hosts it) pimps my show quite often and will usually follow the promo with an Americana Beatles cover and sometimes the actual original song itself. Glad you tuned in and liked it!

He followed it up with a really interesting cover of Yellow Submarine , didn’t catch who it was.
The programme looks good and seems really worth further listening.

That is a fantastic obscure reference to the Beatles Gerell.
Sorry to be so dense – that is so obscure I don’t get it????

The scene is A Hard Day’s Night on the train with “Fat Man Johnson” (that’s the character’s name!) demanding the window be shut, and doing his “I fought the war for your sort…” bit of disdain. When they leave the compartment, there’s a bit in the corridor where they tease him with cries of, “Hey Mister, can we have our ball back?”

Thanks for that! I haven’t seen AHDN all the way through (have it on order at the moment) and can’t wait for it to arrive.

That was Buddy Miller. It’s off an a compilation album called Let Us In- Americana, where all the songs are songs McCartney wrote.

Just reading Hunter Davies The Beatles (thought I’d read this many years ago but think I was mistaken) and I read out loud to husband John’s article from the first edition of Mersey Beat – Being A Short Diversion On The Origins Of Beatles.
He laughed from start to finish – couldn’t get over how clever and original it was.
A little John Lennon epiphany for him!

Maybe what you need to do is get him In His Own Write and A Spaniard in the Works. You might turn him into a fan yet!

Also read Heather Mills’ book yesterday.
Is that the book where she claimed to have been kidnapped by a pedophile as a child? Her childhood acquaintance, who was the person that actually happened to, sued her over it. Not sure if the book was ever reprinted with that part removed.

I was watching tv the other day and a guy was wearing a shirt with small beatles ”Help !” poses all over it. I loved it!

Who’s Albert Baldwin? That sand thing mainly wooshed over my head, the ice bit being good tho.
Albert Goldman. It’s an SNL skit about the controversy surrounding his John bio, with Phil Hartman playing Goldman. The explanation given for writing the book is that he was bitter about getting kicked out of The Beatles.

Just a minor suggestion…can you guys edit out the Youtube links when you’re quoting somebody else’s post? It makes the pages so much less cluttered if we only have to see them on the screen once! And the screen loads faster, too.
Thank you…
