My husband was looking up comic book shirts, which I didn’t know at the time a part from Batman. I hear him say “blue beatle shirt”, so I get excited, & then he tells me its a comic book character called Blue Beetle. I said “I’m not amused”. He tried to tell me it was good character & blah blah blah, but I didn’t want to hear. lol

I was studying my pronunciation with a copy of Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary (7th edition) and I stumbled upon the word “mister”. The sentence used for the word was: “Please mister, can we have our ball back?” I am not kidding! There you go Oxford University making a vague Beatles reference.

^^ I love that.
I saw The Fab Four last night as part of an ongoing TV show series of performances by tribute bands (some of you may remember I went to a taping of another Beatles tribute band on my birthday earlier this year). They loved the band so much that they went beyond their 1-hour time slot and let the band play an extra 30 minutes. The Fab Four were great! They did most early stuff, but then they changed into Sgt. Peppers uniforms, and later into rooftop/Revolution live performance outfits.
Also, I got in the mail an album flat from 1, featuring the solarized Richard Avedon portraits I love so much, so I’m going to have that framed.

This afternoon, I was at an interview at a coffee shop, and at the table behind me, there was a ticket scalper talking with his business partner about Paul’s SF concert. So at the same time I was concentrating on making a good impression, I kept hearing, “Paul McCartney … Paul McCartney …”
What are the odds? I think it was a test of my ability to focus. I passed. :->

My sister just started singing a song which I vaguely recognised: ”it’s been a long day’s night…”. Ah, she means a hard day’s night. Glad to hear her singing some proper music, anyway!

In a football programme yesterday there was a Beatles v Elvis players pick type thing, the Beatles won by 9 votes to 2.
I never really get why people see Elvis vs Beatles as a contests, seeing as they’re so different. Beatles vs Stones I kind of get, and Elvis vs Michael Jackson…but Beatles vs Elvis seems pointless to me.

I totally agree. Elvis is an icon but in the same league as the Beatles? Nah!! He had some very good songs (which influenced the Beatles) but he didn’t write them. I think with him it was more about his image and his incredible voice.

Yesterday I was shopping with my mom and she wanted to go into some shop which I absolutely didn’t want to go into, because most clothes they sell are so boring and plain. And my mom is a bit too young for some of those clothes as well imo. Anyway, we went there and my mom then called me and pointed at the wall, where I saw a John and Yoko shirt and I was a bit stunned, because I didn’t expect it there. It had a picture of them sitting on the floor and both holding a flower. I didn’t buy it. Maybe I will, because I thought it was pretty cool.

Had a George-y moment: I was in the supermarket and George’s ‘Any Road’ came on. I couldn’t believe it, I thought I was hearing things at first. I almost cried. Sad, but true.

Was listening to the radio and A Hard Day’s Night was playing, and after AHDN , Everybody Loves Somebody by Dean Martin came on. Everybody Loves Somebody knocked AHDN from number one in America. I just thought that was kind of a cool coincidence.

Wanted to watch a movie and Buried was on tv so we decided to go with that. Ryan Reynold’s character’s name was Paul and his wife’s Linda.
Didn’t enjoy it so decided to watch something else: 500 Days Of Summer. The guy and the girl are in a record store and Ringo’s Stop and smell the roses is shown. Also, the guy asks her what her favourite Beatlessong is and she replies with ”Octopus’s Garden ” and declares Ringo is her favourite Beatle. She also has a drawing of Ringo in her appartment and later in the movie the guy calls her weird because her favourite Beatle is Ringo. Many of you probably already know this but whatever.
Enjoyable movie by the way. And Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zoeey Deschanel are awesome.

Just a couple of hours ago, my husband was helping me find the radio station that @WETSRoosa is on (husband is tech-savvy, I definitely am not) . We found it and tuned in to have a quick listen (this was 7.30pm Aust. 5.30am USA) just as Here Comes The Sun came on. I sat in my home in Melbourne, Aus. listening to one of my Beatle favourites playing on a radio station in Tennessee. Thought that was great!

Ms Mills has a book out! Is that before or after her time with Paul?
