I always thought it was grave, too, and even after I found out it was grade, I still thought grave when I listened to the song.

Since a few weeks there is this very annoying and bad street artist every weekend, standing in front of the same store blurting out words, playing guitar and harmonica very badly and thinking he’s the next Bob Dylan or something. Yesterday he was wearing a Yellow Submarine shirt.

Obviously, this didn’t make him less annoying.

While I was grocery shopping yesterday, “Let It Be ” came on the radio.  It was a nice change from the top 40 garbage they usually play.  a-hard-days-night-paul-11

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

On IMDb website I was on the Mad Men message board.

One thread was talking about stuff Don Draper gave to his daughter, for in this past episode Sally said “My father’s never given me anything.” So they started making a list of things. The first thing on the list Beatle Tickets.

Another thread called “Sally Go Round The Roses”, basically the same topic. Somebody quoted Carry That Weight lines “I never give you my pillow
I only send you my invitation
And in the middle of the celebrations
I break down”

We still have a Paul fan programming the music at my local 99 Cent store. And last time I went in there, three people besides me were singing out loud to “Let ‘Em In.” We could have started a band, lol.

That’s awesome. The only Beatles song I’ve EVER heard in a store is Let it be. In the supermarket, in a funshop, whatever store..always just Let it be.

I loved the picks of the Dutch radio station, but they kinda blew it by playing Hello Goodbye while using the Abbey Road as the album cover [gatefold]

I was grocery shopping with my dad this morning, and sometimes the store will play “oldies” music (which tends to make me happy to begin with). First, “My Sweet Lord ” came on and I was just happy to hear one song. A few songs later, “Paperback Writer ” started and I grinned and started bobbing my head. Made my day.

I ran to the bank to get change for the store at work yesterday, and “Band On The Run ” was playing.  a-hard-days-night-paul-8

Over here banks don’t play music in the background. Oh and the supermarket where I work (Lidl) doesn’t play music either, which is a shame. I’d like to hum along to music while helping annoying customers.

Going off topic but ive always wondered why in Lidl there is always 2 checkouts out of 5 open with the queues stretching back for a mile. The good thing is they charge for carrier bags, all supermarkets should be charging at least 5p for every carrier bag a customer uses that they didn’t bring themselves.

My Beatley moment was yesterday when my hubby borrowed my car and therefore my CD’s.  He came back home with “Something ” cranked so loud…I could hear it in the house!!  He’s always liked the Beatles…just not as much as me.  I’m a little miffed he was crankin’ up a George song too! a-hard-days-night-george-10 LOL

Well, I don’t know about other Lidl’s, but if a queue is too long for 2 checkouts, one of the 2 cashiers will ring the bell three times so cashier no. 3 knows he or she should open a third. That’s what I was taught, to just ring the bell for another cashier to open a next checkout if we think the queue is too long for us to handle fast enough.

Oh and sometimes, depending at which checkout you’re sitting, it’s very difficult to see how far the queue is stretching.

I was waiting for the bus this morning downtown, and in the window of a vintage shop was Paul’s “Tug Of War ” album on vinyl.  Too bad the shop wasn’t open yet.  It was only $10!

Im only ever in one in Glasgow and the bell must be broken or they don’t havent introduced that store policy.

Turned over to a Pointless repeat on Challenge as I hate adverts and they were just starting ‘Beatles Top 40 UK Singles’. There were 8 pointless answers (of which I got 5 but knew one from being told by someone else). They were: Free As A Bird; Real Love ; Baby Its You (being ’95 BBC single); Ballad of John and Yoko; Something (?!!!!!!!!!!); Come Together ; Hello, Goodbye (??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!); Beatles Movie Medley.

Back In The USSR scored more than Day Tripper (4 against 3)!!!

The given wrong answers were Twist And Shout , The Long And Winding Road and Strawberry Fields as they wanted the exact answer (which annoyed me as its well known as Strawberry Fields).

Top answer was Yellow Submarine /Eleanor Rigby (somehow grouped together but taken separately), Hey Jude wasn’t in the top 3(!).

One contestant didn’t have a clue guessing Yellow Submarine , and the mother was affronted.

Was listening to the radio this morning and there was this contest on which you could win tickets for some festival if you participated with a group of 4 friends under a name and then they’d ring that group one for one and they all had to pick up with ”Alfa Bravo Charlie”. The group they picked this morning participated under ”The Fab Four”. Made me smile.

I was in the car with my aunt and she was asking me about the Paul concert I’m going to next month, then she changed the radio station and Band On The Run was playing.

I have a playlist that has all of the Beatles singles/albums listed in chronological order of release dates and was listening to it on and off all weekend. While watching the Brazil / Spain soccer match yesterday, I saw Fred score the third goal of the match while ‘Fool On The Hill’ was playing. During his post-goal celebration he ran to the corner and hugged the flag to his chest while dancing with it in a circle at the precise moment Paul went into the “round, round, round round round…” part.

Muito Beatley.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Yesterday I was at a local festival called Hobnob, which is every year on the first Saturday of July, and there was a band who covered rocksongs. They opened their set with Come Together and the last song of their set was Helter Skelter ahdn_george_08As I was with 2 friends who aren’t really familiar with the Beatles’ music except for a few hits, I was going crazy on my own, ”dancing” (more like moving spastically while waving my arms everywhere) and ”singing” (more like wailing like a dying cat)

Oh and there was this band called De Kik, which is a Dutch beatgroup. They reminded me of the Beatles circa 1963, with the suits and the head bobbing and the songs in the same style (only sung in Dutch) They even had a few of the same instruments (Rickenbacker guitar, Ludwig drums, Vox amps) and the singer held his guitar high too. It was enjoyable and they had the harmonies down very well though. But after a while we went to the other stage because it was getting quite boring.

Watching the latest episode of Top Gear on Sky+ and during the taxi feature with Richard as a black cab turns at the Savoy there is a red sign strip thingy with a load of Beatle songs written on it: Yesterday , A Hard Days Night, Help !, Hey Jude , I Want To Hold Your Hand , Twist And Shout , With A Little Help From My Friends , Come Together , Sgt Pepper . I couldn’t make out the others. Anyone have any idea what it was for?

Those Beatles get everywhere.
