How about “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?”
I was referring to the early R ‘n’ R songs mostly (especially live stuff). Sorry I didn’t explain myself sufficiently

The other day I was watching a Doctor Who episode and they mentioned The Beatles and Elvis several times.
The one when he’s asked who sold more music, The Beatles or Elvis? I love that episode. I had no idea at all who they were when I first watched that And then he says something like ”where was I, oh yes, Here Comes The Sun ” because they were flying in to the sun, or something like that, didn’t he?
I haven’t watched DW for so long. Brings back good memories thinking about it

We were watching the news last night (much to my dismay) and then this thing came on where this guy had auctioned this guitar for.. I can’t remember the amount, it was either $100, 000 or $400, 000 (I know that’s a huge difference, but those are the numbers in my head, lol). This guitar was given to this guy as a birthday present from John Lennon , then he went and sold it years later. My husband and I said the exact same thing ” I would NEVER sell that guitar, I would much rather keep it.” I really don’t like when people do that. How can you sell a guitar that was given to you by John? Have respect, man!

I agree with you, LHL regarding the selling of John’s guitar! Respect! Some people are unbelievable!
I had a cool Beatley Moment today. My 11 year old was practising his electric guitar. He was playing a variety of songs. Then he struck the one chord….and my hubby and I both sang out (from different parts of the house) “It’s been a hard days night!!” Love it!

I found out yesterday that my sister in law might name her child, if a boy, Desmond. Of course I was like “Beatle’s reference!” but I don’t think that’s where she got it from.

It depends on your circumstance. If youre struggling financially, cant afford to insure/safeguard it, have no space then it might make sense to flog it to someone else who will appreciate it. To beatle fans and many others this is John Lennon ‘s guitar!!!! to others its just a guitar played by some musician. Folk are paying millions for paintings held in high esteem by all the art people who wet themselves over it, to me its just a painting.
One mans guitar is other mans firewood.

Radio 2 played All Those Years Ago on Monday, only mention it as ive never heard it on the radio ever. Wasnt a beatle spot or due to a news story or anything.
Also yesterday heard a decent new cover of Got To Get You Into My Life whilst driving thru the country. No idea what radio station or the artist but at least it wasnt a straight copy and you didnt want to shout “noooooooooooo!!” and start apologising to Paul.

I once heard Photograph on the radio, that was pretty weird too. I mean, I often hear songs by John, Paul and George on the radio, but never Ringo.
Not for me, on one radio station it played two Ringo songs in the same day, It Don’t Come Easy and Photograph. But I think they were just on a Beatles streak because they also played Hey Jude , Let it Be, 9 Dream, Imagine , Maybe I’m Amazed , Band On The Run and Got My Mind Set on You.

Maybe it was Earth Wind & Fire?

I almost never hear John on the radio. I have heard more Ringo songs played on the radio than John. Paul and George I hear pretty frequently on the radio.
My brother was just walking around singing Jet , and then he came downstairs to tell me that he hopes Paul plays that again when we see him in July.

It’s interesting how they play different artists in different places. Here for instance, we hear a lot of Beatles songs, probably an equal (or possibly a bit more) amount of Paul/Wings, a fair bit of John, a little bit of George (but the song of his they play the most here is “All Those Years Ago”) and none of poor Ringo, other than “Yellow Submarine ” & “Octopus’ Garden”.

Maybe I don’t listen to the radio enough, but I don’t recall ever hearing a Beatles song on the radio, and very few solo songs from any of them (except on Beatles radio shows like Breakfast With The Beatles , of course).

In the past couple of months I’ve heard “Happiness Is A Warm Gun “, “Here Comes The Sun ” and “She Loves You ” on the radio all around Christmas time oddly enough.

Are they still going? It was new but no idea who, had a bit of a jazz and r&b feel to the cover.
Regrading the radio i usually hear Instant Karma for John, Got My Mind Set On You or My Sweet Lord for George and a handful of songs for Paul – things like Band On The Run & Listen To What The Man Says, nothing from the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s or now except once for Dance Tonight when it came out. I did once hear Ringo’s Photograph during a 10 minute 3 solo/beatles song segment but thats it.
