“You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)” is quite a song… I had only heard it maybe once before I bought the recored and didn’t make much of it.. but it’s totally groovy in the beginning and it’s great… then it goes into Paul for a while, on and on with ‘You know my naaaame…’ kinda makes me melt a little. Then John with the gibberish at the end, makes me burst out laughing. It has everything, really!
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Only heard it once? That’s craziness, I love that song. When it goes into Paul and he’s doing that “you know my naaame,” part, I thought that was George for the longest time. I only realized it was Paul when I read in a book it was him.

So whenever you hear something that’s a lyric or title of a Beatles song, you start singing whatever song it is?Pretty much.
Are you ever not singing?
Nope.

There’s a woman who takes my same morning shuttle from the school parking lot to the main campus who always has a Beatles tote bag.
And one of the department heads has a window office so you can see her framed photo of Paul on her wall.

I have the 7″ on my wall and it’s very much in my Top Five now. Every person unfortunate to get a ride from me ends up hearing it. Just last week a friend asked me about “that crazy Beatles song.”

My wife and I were catching up on a favorite show of ours on the DVR last night…in it, one of the main characters is in prison for a crime she was framed for, and she was asking a fellow inmate if she can get her some supplies, and that inmate said “honey, I could stage a Beatles reunion concert in here if the price was right!” I ‘d

We have a thing called “Song of the Day” at my school where a small part of a song’s played in the morning announcements, and I’ve been waiting all year for a Beatle song, and I finally got my wish today… Good Day Sunshine played, I had such a smile on my face! The announcements are during homeroom, and when we were waiting for the bell to ring, I heard a girl listening to Across The Universe because she was listening to it loud in her ear-buds. Those moments made my day

#2 Beatley moment happened on the IMDB boards of Glee. Tonight’s episode was called Guilty Pleasures. One of the characters’ guilty pleasure was Chris Brown. The girls on the show were getting on to him about Chris Brown being a woman beater. Later he performs a song by Bobby Brown, former husband of Whitney Houston. Anyways..heres the messages:
- if they were really about the cause why did they perform ‘imagine’ by john lennon an avid woman beater.
- He’s white and he’s a beatle…so it doesn’t count.
- John Lennon did change though. He realized he was a dick and wanted to be a better person.
- trust me even if he turns his life around a 180 degrees and becomes mother teresa he will still be bashed.
so im not buying the fact that the media is bashing cause he was a previous abuser or cause they’re against domestic violence , until other white celebs get an equal dosage of scrutiny - Exactly, the double standard is blatant when it comes to the treatment of black celebrities vs white.
- Am I the only one who actually saw that picture of Rihanna after the incident? He didn’t just hit her he beat the sht out of her and she went back to him. I have no sympathy for women or men who do such things.

Not exactly the best Beatly moment. One of my former coworkers posted this to facebook: “I don’t believe Ive ever seen or heard such a horrible massacre of Beatles songs at one time as I did tonight. Terrible!”
I told them that I would hunt the person down.
Were they talking about American Idol, because it was Beatles day on Wednesday for that show.
I watched that, and the one guy on the show said how The Beatles were “almost perfection,” and I was like “Almost? Hoe, the Beatles are beyond perfection!” Yeah, and my mom agreed with me on that one.

Yea I eventually found out it was from American Idol.
There have been some pretty bad American Idol Beatles tributes in the past, but this one takes the cake. I could only really sit through Come Together .

I was walking the dog last Sunday and I walked past a shoe store and looked inside. I noticed they had pictures of New York on the wall and one of them was of the Imagine monument thingie.

Lots happen today.
This morning I came across a magazine with George on the front page! The magazine was issued during 2011. I think the article was written Martin Scherser or something like that. It featured 5 pages of George, complete with pictures.
Next I came to read the newspaper, apparently according to Ripley’s Believe it or Not: It was many years ago today that the Beatles recorded Please Please Me for 400 Pounds Sterling.
I also came across a history book, and for the first time it mentioned the Beatles LOTS of times.

Nope.
I am exactly the same. Due to the huge bank of Beatles lyrics, I am always doing it! Someone says “Hey!…” Its a simple response. Any mention of the sun coming out and they get a rendition of Here Comes The Sun (not too often as I live in England). So many examples but I can’t think of many more specific ones; it really can be anything. “While I’m away…” or anything similar has me jumping in with All My Loving . As soon as somebody says “She’s not…” I always finish with “…a girl who misses much…dobee…”

^ I do that too. In fact I just sit there in class and when the sun comes through the window I get the ‘Love’ version of Here Comes…in my head. Always.
My friend has lent me a book called ‘The Lonely Hearts Club’. It’s your typical bland teen romance book but she passed it to me as we went into class this morning ’cause it’s to do with The Beatles. So far, I’ve come across 3 ”references”: a character called Rita, the main one called Penny Lane and a mention of their visit to America. Plus, each chapter starts with a song title and lyrics.
Hopefully this will make the book bearable.

More stuff:
I was forced to watch Dreamgirls as nothing else was on and my laptop battery was empty and the Beatles were mentioned a few times. Plus there was a bit were pictures of the ”Dreamgirls” at some events flew by, and there was one picture of them with the Beatles. It was the picture where they’re sitting in front of their wax statues, but instead of the statues it was the Dreamgirls. Terrible film by the way. Hate it.
Then there was a talkshow on some channel and one of my favourite DJs was a guest. He was there to talk about the Beatles. I expected him to talk about Please Please Me and to be a bit more informative, but it was fun nonetheless.

I was reading a book, and it mentioned John Lennon and Yoko Ono! And later in the book, one of the characters said, “Give Peace A Chance ,” which may or may not be a reference…
