I was watching some show with my baby sister earlier, and these penguins got their ball taken from them, and they kept going “hey, can we have our ball back?” They had English accents, too, so you probably know what that made me think of.

Haha!
Funny you should mention penguins – I just half an hour ago finished watched the cursed Pittsburgh Penguins beat my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs for the SECOND consecutive time on Toronto ice…and it’s the SECOND consecutive game that I heard no Beatles music being played in the arena! Previous few games, I heard a Beatles tune or two (and posted about it earlier in this very thread) and my team won! THIS CANNOT CONTINUE!!
I DEMAND to hear Beatles songs played in that arena! And not just for the obvious reason.
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

gah. I’ve been having difficulty with it?
Is there a way to add photos from my computer or does it have to be from a site?
I don’t know if you can watch this or not,but heres a link to the epidsode. Its about 6:20ish minutes into the video. And they show the full pictures, so it was just my camera that cut it off. http://www.hulu.com/watch/466519
Still don’t see it.
And I’m not in the US so I can’t watch the video either.

Here in the UK, we have two main in-depth news programmes, BBC2’s Newsnight and Channel Four News. I was watching Channel Four News earlier this evening. For some reason, this serious news programme ended with the Russian Grannies from last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, on the London Eye, singing Imagine in Russian, accompanied by today’s lead presenter, Krisnan Guru-Murthy, on guitar. WTF!

I was researching for a good topic, right now I am considering Anglophilia, the other candidate was The Beatles of course but I couldn’t think of a good topic. I saw this video with I think, Victor Spinetti in the end?

Oh yeah this morning I tuned up to Breakfast with the Beatles as well.

I was in Old Navy grabbing a hoodie for my dude for work, and I had to stop off at the tee section… and of course they had an awesome “Let It Be ” shirt. It’s the cover but in cool colours. I bought it, of course. When I bought it I told the girl “You guys have to stop making Beatles shirts, I’m going to go broke!”
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

One of my friends on facebook wrote this:
gone to a VW car show with my mom and met a red old skool beatle with my mom named Pablo with a fancy moustache.
I know its talking about a car, but she spelled it wrong. She spelled it like the band, on top of that she said it was red and had mustache which mad me think of Sgt Pepper .

Okay I just realised that the title of Happiness Is A Warm Gun is not Happiness is a Warm Gum wth. But I hear the song with “gun” and I was wondering why the title was different.
EDIT: Now I know why… I kinda tricked myself for a minute or two.

Yesterday , a woman was walking her dog unleashed (a pet peeve, no pun intended) and he started running towards me, and she called out, “No, Ringo! Ringo, come here!” That made me smile.

I was reading a book, and it said something about something being helter-skelter. I smiled for the next few chapters. Then, later in the book, I read the words “inquire discreetly” and I started singing, “Lovely Rita , meter maid, may I inquire discreetly…” When I finished the book (it was a fairly short one) I was still smiling.
Also, more of a George moment but…
My science teacher told us we had to write a short essay titled “What Is Life ?”
Me: (singing quietly) Tell me, what is my life without your love? Tell me, who am I without you by my side…
Person sitting next to me: (slightly incredulously) Are you practicing for chorus? In science class?
Me: *blushes* No, no, it’s just that George Harrison – you know him, right?
PSNTM: *shakes head*
Me: He was a Beatle. Anyway, he wrote a song called “What Is Life ,” and the title of the essay reminded me of the song, and… *stops because PSNTM is looking at me strangely* Never mind.

It was released in 1980, has this on it:

- “Misery ”
- Stereo, previously issued on Vee-Jay LP Introducing… The Beatles; available on Please Please Me
- “There’s a Place”
- Stereo, previously issued on Vee Jay LP Introducing… The Beatles; available on Please Please Me
- “Sie Liebt Dich ”
- Stereo, previously released only as a mono single in the US on Swan Records; now available on Past Masters
- “And I Love Her ”
- Stereo, alternate version with six-bar ending; originally issued in Germany; not available on CD
- “Help !”
- Mono, with different vocals than the stereo LP; available on The Beatles in Mono
- “I’m Only Sleeping ”
- Stereo, final UK Revolver mix (an early mix was released in the US)
- “I Am The Walrus ”
- Stereo, new mix compiled from US single and UK album mixes: six-bar intro and extra beats before the “Yellow matter custard” verse; not available on CD
Side two
- “Penny Lane ”
- Stereo, new version compiled from the German true stereo version with the US promotional mono version’s extra piccolo trumpet solo added onto the ending; not available on CD
- “Helter Skelter ”
- Mono, ends at first fadeout without Ringo Starr ‘s “blisters” outburst (first pressings of the album erroneously attribute the statement to John Lennon )[1]; available on The Beatles in Mono
- “Don’t Pass Me By ” (Starkey)
- Mono, sped-up version with different violin in places; available on The Beatles in Mono
- “The Inner Light ” (Harrison)
- Mono, previously released as the B-side of “Lady Madonna “; now available on Mono Masters
- “Across The Universe ”
- Stereo, original version from No One’s Gonna Change Our World, a British compilation album made for the World Wildlife Fund; now available on Past Masters
- “You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)”
- Mono, previously released as the B-side of “Let It Be “; now available on Past Masters
- “Sgt. Pepper Inner Groove”
- Stereo, a piece that ended the original British release of Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band but was not included on the American version of the album. It consists of a few seconds of 15 kilohertz tone (similar to a dog whistle) followed by two seconds of laughter and noise on the runout groove. The tone is not included on this album but the laughter and noise are featured just before the actual runout groove. It has since been restored, including the high-pitch tone, for all worldwide CD and cassette versions of Sgt. Pepper as well as the 2012 vinyl remaster of the LP
- “Penny Lane ”
It’s fantastic! Such a good find!
We also picked up: Plastic Ono band-Live Peace In Toronto 1969 , Wings-Red Rose Speedway , The Who-Live at Leeds, and Django Reinhardt-Three Fingered Lighting…
Then I was grocery shopping today, and beside the ingredients for “Pizza” I had written “Make the night before”… and of course “The Night Before ” popped into my head and I started singing it a little…
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

Another Beatley (er, Paul) moment:
I was just looking at some pics on http://cuteoverload.com/ , and one description/caption/whatever references Paul McCartney . There’s a link that leads to the lyrics to Let ‘Em In. I had heard of the song before, but I didn’t know what it was. I read the lyrics, and I realized that it was one of the songs my mom used to randomly sing when I was little!
