A few days ago, me and my mom were driving in the car together, and our conversation was something like this:
“What happened forty-nine years ago today?”
Me: “The Beatles had their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, but that was forty-eight years ago today.”
“They just said it was forty-nine years ago on the radio.”
Me: “Well, they’re wrong, because that was in 1964.”
“What year is it now?”
Me: “2012.. Oh, nevermind.”
It took me a whole two months to get that one wrong!

Don’t worry, you’ve still got another ten months to get it right.

I was reading this newspaper today and read that Kate Hudson was going to be playing a character named “Penny Lane “. On the same newspaper there was this advert for an aeroplane company. The advert went like this: “You say Dubai, I say Hello”. It sounds strangely familiar. =P

Not sure if it’s the right place to write this, but an afternoon before Christmas I was watching Magical Mystery Tour with Paul’s commentary (I guess I didn’t have better things to do that day…). By the time I arrived to Blue Jay Way , I noticed something strange outside the windows: there was so much fog that I could barely see anything, and all was bright orange because the sun was setting, a really weird and “psychedelic” view. So I stopped the commentary on the dvd and watched the normal video, with George dressed in orange and singing about “a fog upon L.A.”, on the TV right between my two windows with all this incredible orange fog. Definitely an experience (and no substance involved!)P.S. here’s a picture: http://loony-lucy.deviantart.c…..-344396320
Wow that picture looks more like a painting! (And, yes, here is the place to post stuff like that)

Very lovely! You have quite an eye.
I forgot to mention another Beatley moment from a couple of days ago. I’m taking a class in which we’ll have to do a final time-lapse video with music, and our teacher showed up past examples of what he’s looking for. One of them used the Beatles’ version of “Ain’t She Sweet .”

Must have been an OLD newspaper – she played that role in “Almost Famous”, released in 2000!

So I was in a free period at school, listening to Please Please Me on the computer. When Chains came on, George’s voice at ” I wanna tell you pretty baby, I think you’re fine /I’d like to love you, but darling I’m imprisoned by these chains,” and at “Please believe me when I tell you, your lips are sweet/ I’d like to kiss them, but I can’t break away from all these chains,” made me completely melt, and I descended into a swooning, giggling puddle of giddiness. I got strange looks from the people around me, but did I care?

We were watching an interview/doc on VH1 Classic on Lemmy from Motorhead.
The guy asked Lemmy who are his influences: Little Richard, The Beatles, Elvis. He didn’t name anyone else because he started telling about he saw them (The Beatles) at The Cavern and how great they were. It also showing him purchasing The Beatles mono boxset.

Had an odd dream last night that I was enjoying a great cover of a solo George song by Steely Dan. I have no idea if such a thing exists (Google turned up nothing) but it would be freaky if there were.

Actually I’m pretty sure the only cover the great Steely Dan ever did was of Duke Ellington’s “East St. Louis Toodle-loo”. Interesting concept, though!
Incidentally, there’s a pretty good thread dedicated to Beatles dreams. Check it out!

Ah, thanks, I will. It was weird because I could hear the song clearly. I wish I could remember it and play it. :->

I was flicking thru the channels the other day and there was an episode of ‘Heartbeat’ (British tv programme set in the 60s) on. I stopped for a second on that channel because something sounded familiar…that´s when I realised that ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps ‘ was playing in the background. Of course I carried on watching until the song stopped

Heartbeat featured the beatles a lot, not that that made it decent enough to watch.
Was in Poundland and they had a book called ‘A Day In The Life ‘ so naturally had to have a look at it. It was about 2 people in the 60’s who’ve i’ve never heard of and their story – which sounded pretty dull. Explains why it was in Poundland.
Turned on the One Show as i hate adverts and in a promo clip some female was signing Eleanor Rigby on acoustic guitar – no idea who it was.

Yesterday I was reading on fb about the country singer, Mindy Mccready, committing suicide and in the comment section someone said “money can’t buy you love”.

Emeli Sandé, I think. As far as covers go, I didn´t think it sounded too bad (at least the few seconds I heard of it).

I started a new job yesterday where the radio’s connected to Sirius, and Joe Cocker’s version of “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window ” came on (I had no idea he did a cover of it).

Saw the great Withnail & I for the first time in a couple of years recently, and was surprised that I didn’t remember how “While My Guitar Gently Weeps ” plays in the background of a key scene. (The film is set in the closing months of the 1960s.) That it was a Handmade Film with George Harrison as one of the exec producers obviously made the difference.
