Turned on a radio station and We Can Work It Out was starting. Yeyy!!!!! Stupid disc-jockey turned it off 2/3 of the way thru for damn adverts. Rule 1 of radio land for the stupid: You play a Beatles record full, if its too long for the spot get one thats shorter. It aint bleeding rocket science.

I am taking up Asian History, we were discussing religions/philosophies in Asia. One of them was T’aoism, the professor taught that it was mainly doing all without doing stuff like that which reminded me of a certain George Harrison song. He even mentioned “Let it Be” in the end.
Speaking of which a candy wrapper company wraps their candy with one liners (kinda like fortune cookies), I stumbled upon a candy with “Let it Be” written on it.
Same professor, we went to a field trip he requested Beatles songs on the bus. He even told us the story of Eleanor Rigby , which I already knew beforehand. We had a chat to try and convert my classmates into the Beatles lol. The sad part, he didn’t know why some of the vocals were missing. I noticed that only one of the speakers is working darn stereo!

There was this quiz on the radio where they had a bunch of fragments of songs being played after each other and one had to guess them all. We Can Work It Out was one of them.

I woke up this morning, switched on BBC Breakfast, and for some reason I still can’t fathom, they were playing The Barkers version of She Loves You . For those who don’t know, The Barkers are dogs performing Beatles songs. Couldn’t get my head around it.

I’m listening to my playlist of Beatles songs on shuffle. Octopus’s Garden from Anthology played, and then the regular Octopus’s Garden .

I have a huge Rock Discography book and in the John Lennon entry it writes #9 Dream as £9 Dream. Gives it a different meaning entirely.

Was watching That 70s Show and Hyde was wearing a Revolver shirt. I want a Revolver shirt!
And this evening I went to this new club, because there were some coverbands performing. The very first song was Come Together ! It was kinda disappointing though, as the drummer did it all wrong and they left the guitarsolos and bits out.

Again, listening to Beatles music on shuffle. The End played, and then there was the silence that precedes Her Majesty (which is counted as part of the song; at least, on iTunes it is). Then, after the silence, John yelled “Mr. Moonlight” and I was so surprised that I jumped out of my seat.

Yesterday I was reading about the Westminster dog show on fb and I read the an English Sheepdog wowing the crowd. I was watching Mad Men while reading this and a few minutes later Don Draper said “buy her a few Beatle singles”.

Not sure if it’s the right place to write this, but an afternoon before Christmas I was watching Magical Mystery Tour with Paul’s commentary (I guess I didn’t have better things to do that day…). By the time I arrived to Blue Jay Way , I noticed something strange outside the windows: there was so much fog that I could barely see anything, and all was bright orange because the sun was setting, a really weird and “psychedelic” view. So I stopped the commentary on the dvd and watched the normal video, with George dressed in orange and singing about “a fog upon L.A.”, on the TV right between my two windows with all this incredible orange fog. Definitely an experience (and no substance involved!)

Another Beatles Moment today, we had school fair and there was this booth with RockBand in it. Guess what? Beatles Rockband!
I sang my heart out even if nobody knows “some” of the songs.
And also something from my memory bank. I heard a different artist singing September in the Rain on the radio before I even heard or knew that the Beatles had recorded it. I thought that Paul would have the sang the song, a few years later it turned out that he did.

A faux Beatley moment: last night I heard a television character introduced as “Abbey Road .” What? Did I just hear that? I backed the scene up and re-listened, or really listened to be more accurate: “Abby Monroe.”
Close, but not quite!
It's gotta be rock and roll music if you wanna dance with me

last night I heard a television character introduced as “Abbey Road .”
Dunno if you’re familiar with Fox-TV’s animated sitcom “American Dad”, but anyways…there was an episode a couple of years ago in which the character Roger did indeed disguise himself as a groupie named “Abbey Road ” – in an obvious homage to the “Penny Lane ” character in Almost Famous.
I was watching Mad Men while reading this and a few minutes later Don Draper said “buy her a few Beatle singles”.
Yeah, I was so excited at the start of Season 4 ’cause I knew they’d reached 1964 and that Beatles shoutouts would be imminent! (Spoiler: Guess who little Sally’s going to see at Shea Stadium a few episodes down the road!)
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

I won my first guitar through a raffle at a local record store. I enrolled in a beginning guitar course at school. I’ve been going back and forth about whether to invest in having the guitar restrung for a lefty or just to play upside down. So, yesterday I went to a local guitar shop, and a luthier explained to me that restringing/renutting/rebridging the guitar for a lefty would cost more than the guitar is worth.
Then he tried to convince me (as many have) that I should just get used to playing it right-handed as most do, at which point I blurted, “Well, Paul McCartney plays it left-handed.” The luthier just looked at me with chagrin, like, “Really? We’re going to go there?” His chagrin became chagrinnier when the woman next to me said, “Really? He does?” and the luthier glanced at her like, “Don’t encourage her.”
In my defense, we were at least 10 minutes into the conversation before I pulled out my trump card, so I think I displayed admirable restraint.

I knows I kind of started the series out of order. I started season 5, cause thats whats on tv, and I’ve worked my through the rest of the series. Sometimes I jump ahead, which I did for the Shea, when I hear about something Beatley related. And of course in season 5 they had “Tomorrow Never Knows .”
I guess this could go in the thread “You know you’re a hardcore Beatles fan when….”, but when I see something 1964 related I automatically think Beatles. Like in the movie “The Help ” at the end of the movie, Skeeter is reading a letter and the date is June 1964. Then again it might throw off the balance of what the movie is about, but yea
