A parody of the Help ! album cover was noticeable in the background of a report on tonights One Show on BBC 1 (behind an interview with Ian Hislop and it was an advert for Private Eye which he works on) and during an episode of The Simpsons, the one where Krusty reconciles with his Father, there was a pic of Krusty and the Beatles together.

I heard “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” on the radio this morning. It got me to thinking about how this Saturday will mark the date of John’s death. When the song was over, I changed stations and heard the opening of “Come Together “…during which John says “shoot me”.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Was needing to fill 8 minutes before a programme came on the tv, flicked thru the music channels and starting up was Mull Of Kintyre as it was a Christmas number 1. Pipes Of Peace will also get airplay thru the Chrimble season as that was released in December.
And talking of Christmas, from Wiki:
The Beatles are the only act to have four Christmas number ones, three consecutively starting from 1963. On two occasions, 1963 and 1967, they had both the Christmas number one and the number two, the only act to have achieved this. As part of two acts, George Michael repeated the feat with Band Aid and Wham! in 1984. Paul McCartney has been top seven times with various acts.

Nope. Check out the color of the ornaments.
They’re all red, blue, green or purple, their favorite colors?
My Beatley moment is yesterday I was listening to Band On The Run in the car, and we switched lanes and the person’s license plate in front of us was JET, and the last two numbers were 83. It could just be a coincidence, but I thought it was pretty intense, ecspecially since I was listening to that album.

As normal have the tv on in the background, volume down low, and during an advert a clip of a band looking like the beatles flashed on screen. After rewinding turned out to be a promo for a Sky series called Little Crackers and was 3 actors playing John, Paul (at the front and singing) and George at the Cavern. The Swinging Blue Jeans cover of ‘Hippy Hippy Shake’ was the song playing over the images.

Today I visited a friend of mine with other friends and we watched Love Actually. Anyone who’s watched it knows what I’m going to say now.
1. During the wedding a band performs All You Need Is Love
2. Sam wants to become a rockstar and his dad says something like “Even the weirdo rockstars get girls. For God sake, Ringo Starr married a bondgirl”
3. Sam has this chalkboard on his bedroomdoor and at one point when he is is drumming it says “Ringo rocks”
4. At one point Hugh Grant says he’s proud of the UK for various reasons of which one is it’s the country of the Beatles.
Also, my friend who is in China for 6 months has to perform a song with an orchestra or band or something and they’re going to perform All You Need Is Love !

I watched the last Twilight film on Sunday and at one point a conversation between two vampires goes something like this:
– Can´t believe you´re listening to that. I can´t stand the British Invasion.
– What, even The Beatles??
Always smile to myself when things like that happen.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

The Stones seemed to have opened up their recent concerts with a Lennon-McCartney tune
Of course, it’s not the first time the Stones have played it, though possibly the first time since becoming famous….

The Stones said in a recent interview they would be doing IWBYM, it would have been so easy for them to do some early blues tracks and then jump ahead to Satisfaction etc so its cool to see them paying tribute to John and Paul and not forgetting their origins. Its nowhere close to their best song but important in their history since it spurred Mick and Keith to write their own songs.
Ringo does it better tho.

So first I went to Action, which is a big store that has basically everything. They had the Abbey Road shirts for 5 euros and though I already have one, my mom decided to buy one for me and my brother. These are black though, the one I already had was white.
Then we went to the H&M and Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas time was on, being sung by some squeaky girl.

I heard a dreadful cover of Happy Xmas (War Is Over) in Glasgow. One of those cheaply compiled cds where the folk singing struggle to hit a note never mind the right tune.
In the same shop there was a song (no idea what it was called but the lady singing was very depressed) which clearly borrowed the “better better better better better better” part of Hey Jude .

One day recently, I was driving and I saw a sign that I thought said, “The Walrus was Paul.” I drove back and realized it was just a sign for a hospital.
I love your account name (I love George too!). I was driving in a bad neighborhood, and I thought I was out of it when I saw a street sign that said Lennon Court, but it’s real.
