My plan is to eventually buy the whole DVD collection and watch it from beginning to end. (Maybe I can call in sick one day.)
Worthy investment indeed, but I suspect that the song won’t be on the DVD… 🙁
GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

HEY! I just finished typing 2 seconds ago, headphones on and guess what song just came up on shuffle play? “Tomorrow Never Knows “!! (Well, not the original, but rather a 1968 cover version by jazzman Steve Marcus.)

All Together Now is the track the BBC are using for their summer trailer, starting with the Diamond Jubillee and i presume until the Olympics are over.
The Beatles will feature at the Olympics in some way, especially as its the 50th anniversary, as well as the Jubilee Concert what with Paul being there. The Beatles do keep bringing the tourists and are one of the things that tourists associate with the UK.

I heard that too! I thought I heard all together now playing in the lounge and I ran in and it was on the summer trailer.
I love moments like that.

You know, even though I’ve been gone awhile, there are only a few things that spring to mind.
1. One of my friends is going to LOVE, I congratulated him, of course.
2. We’re going to see Ringo!
3. When one of my youth leaders asked why I was bothering with getting pulled out of camp to go see Ringo (we pulled a similar stunt with Polythene Dan when we saw Paul), saying “He’s not even the original drummer!” I was very quick to give my reasons. (I did not tell him that I thought of Sun king.) Of course, he then displayed his ignorance by saying, “The original drummer only got kicked out because he broke his arm!” We exchanged several words after that, but I was able to convince him of le facts.
4. This one should be relatable to the younger posters. (The ones who are young enough to have been mocked in junior high for liking the Beatles) As you probably know, I was mocked for liking the Beatles. So imagine my surprise in my history class when I saw one of the same girls who mocked me in junior high with a Beatles notebook! Not a Beatles quote, but those (*cough*Sun king*cough*) who are “loners” (musically, at least) can definitely tell the jerks, “Time is on my side!”
5. Recently I wore my Beatles shirt to an activity. One of my acquaintances asked me if I was a Beatles fan. The exchange went something like this:
Person: “Do you like the Beatles?”
Me: “Yeah, I’m a huge fan.”
Person: “Like a hipster?”
Me: “Huh?”
Fellow Beatles Fan Who Was Standing Nearby: “He means like someone who would say, ‘I love the Beatles! Mick Jagger is my favorite!'”
Me: “No, not like a hipster. More like second-top poster on a Beatles forum.”
6. I’m gonna be 17 tomorrow! Or should I celebrate with Paul?
7. Don’t you just love finding Beatles references in random daily stuff? (Note: the strip title is “V Was Only Waiting for this Moment to Arise.”)
If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Slightly irritating moment yesterday:
I was out of town, and the radio station was talking about Paul playing the Olympics, or whatever. I’m only half listening, and then they play the Beatles. Makes sense, right? They play Nowhere Man . Me and my mom both still can’t get over the stupidity.

Things like this have happened to me a few times, it’s almost unreal how these DJ’s who are supposed to know about music can be so stupid sometimes.

John was in a restaurant once when the violinist recognised him and procedeed to play Yesterday , John wasnt amused but couldnt say anything.
It happens often with John and Paul and their beatles songs, worse still some folks online say Imagine is a beatles song, the height of all stupidity and ignorance.

I told my great-grandma that I’m going to see Ringo this summer, and she was just like “There are so many beautiful things in the world, and you’re going to see RINGO?” Then she told me that “It’s all very good that you like Ringo, but I don’t want to feel what you’re feeling.” After that she was just too upset to say anything else about it.
My other Beatley moment was when I saw the Jersey Boys a few weeks ago. Some part in the play the guy said something like “Everybody wants to be in the spotlight, but if there are four guys, and you’re Ringo…”

I got back from Nashville yesterday, and this is a pretty exciting story. I went there to see a Ringo concert, but I also went to Hard Rock Cafe to pray for peace and love with him on his birthday. So I got my way up to the front of the crowd (much to the dismay of some old guy standing behind me), and when Ringo walked off the stage, he grabbed my hand and gave me a bracelet!

I have a kinda Beatles moment,
I was wearing a Beatles tank top when I was at a concert one time (because obviously it’s my favorite shirt ) and we were walking down this kind of not so good part of town to get a drink at McDonalds before the show started. While we were walking this homeless man with one leg started chasing me down the street and yelling at me, telling me I was a stupid girl and I didn’t know who the Beatles were or what they sang. He then yelled at me to name them, still at a far distance from us, and I named them all and then a good amount of songs that they sing/wrote and he just stopped right there in his tracks and turned around and left. One of the more scary moments of my life! Didn’t know how he was going to react

Sounds scary – having a homeless person chase you down the street. Did you really name them all though? I don’t know what I would do if that happened to me, my mind would just go blank and I’d be like umm…err…..

Haha, yeah I did! But I’m kind of a smartass when it comes to people trying to tell me I don’t know things that I do.

It was scary at the time, but now it’s hilarious. It’s a story I will tell my grandchildren! 🙂

I had another Beatley moment. I was reading recipes and there was one that was “Lennon Cakes.” I thought ‘Hmm…why would you make John Lennon Cakes, what would even be in them?’ Then I realized it said lemon……..
Guess we know what was on my mind!
