My best friend of many years is not a Beatles fan, but he watched the Get Back trailer, as I must have been going on about it a bit…
He then asked me “Did they do a concert on the top of a building? Like they do in The Simpsons?”
I had to explain that that whole episode is one big Beatles parody, and that George Harrison himself is in the episode, and this all completely blew his mind somehow? I mean, there’s not being a Beatles fan and then there’s having huge gaps in pop culture knowledge, right?!
OMG! you’re kidding 😀 :D. At least its noticeable that the Simpsons are younger then the Beatles.
This Episode became so much more funny when you know all the little insiders and tidbits of Fab History.
“Number Eight – BURP – Number Eight – BURP – Number Eight – BURP!”
@kelicopter
I had to look up the scene again
Another great thing is how they sing at the rooftop and wearing the outfit the Beatles wear at the rooftop with Homer wearing Ringos outfit and Ringo is Marges favorite Beatle:
And one thing I noticed too: The sagging of Willy was a parody of the sagging of Pete Best.

A cover of ‘Christmas Time (Is Here Again)’ is playing in the pub I’m in. I would never have expected to hear such a thing anywhere as I had no idea anyone had ever covered it. Whoever the band are have added a guitar solo and a freak out ending.

I was talking to my client who is originally from the Muscle Shoals area. We were talking about the recording studios up there because I have seen advertising for the doc. about the studio musicians there. Her husband said everyone played there and named off bands including The Beatles. I knew that probably wasn’t true about the band, but maybe individually as solo. A quick look, no Beatles, but Julian Lennon recorded there. And one of the Allman Brothers taught Wilson Pickett to play Hey Jude at one of the studios. So, there are Beatles connections at least.

More so the first and whilst it’s close it’s not the one.
Later there was a dreadful cover of ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over).
A more obscure Beatles connection is Robert (Robbie) Fraser scored for the Rangers B team in their 5-1 defeat to Cove Rangers. And whilst I was in hospital there was a patient called Derek Taylor.

Was watching the BBC quiz show Richard Osman’s House of Games on the telebox yesterday, and in an alpha-numeric round (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc.) the category Beatles Albums came up:

The day before I was watching the BBC’s The Repair Shop, which has people bringing in items of sentimental value to them but have fallen into disrepair and need mending and/or restoration. 3 items per show which you follow through the process of repair and restoration before being returned to their grateful owners.
Anyway, on Thursday’s episode, a woman called Margaret walked into the barn…
Silversmith Brenton West is in his element as he carefully restores two platinum framed records given to rock star Jimmy McCulloch, a guitarist in Paul McCartney ‘s band Wings. Jimmy’s younger cousin, Margaret, is now custodian of the precious discs and longs to see them revived in honour of her beloved relative who tragically died when he was just 26 years old. The restoration triggers a trip down memory lane for ’70s music fan Brenton.
They were the platinum discs awarded to him for Wings Over America and Wings At The Speed Of Sound .
The episode’s available on iPlayer for those with access.

On this week’s episode of The Now Show (https://www.bbc.co.uk/programm…..s/m00121bl), when referring to this news story
BBC Radio 4’s Today programme was forced off air for 15 minutes this morning after New Broadcasting House was dramatically evacuated following a fire alarm.
The show’s team including presenters Martha Kearney and Nick Robinson had to leave the building in London at 7.39am, before being allowed back in at 7.54am.
They said that what probably happened was that Martha Kearney and Nick Robinson had been watching Get Back all weekend and just wanted to do the Today Show from the rooftop. They ended that section with the I would like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we’ve passed the audition line.

I know Richard Osman holds the Beatles in very high esteem.
In the B&N ‘The Lyrics’ Interview, there is a message from Richard Osman to Paul McCartney : “You are the greatest songwriter of all time, and I refuse to listen to anyone who says otherwise.”

Just ran across this book in my day’s work
qid=1639433524&s=books&sr=1-1
From the description…
From Babylon to the Beatles, Saint Michael to #MeToo, Dominion tells the story of how Christianity transformed the modern world.
The chapter title of interest is: Love 1967: Abbey Road

Yesterday I had a very Beatly Moment: My girlfriends sister is visiting us at the Baltic Sea and they rented a vaccation house near our home. So we went there yesterday evening for dinner after they arrived and I was not in the mood at all for any company (my girls sister has 4 kids).
When we got there the kids and sister greeted us. We got into the house and gave the birthday present to the 2 year old niece. Then I explored the house a little and discovered a turntable with a collection of vinyls under the table. I looked through the collection and found 4 (!!!) Beatles vinyls: Rubber Soul , Sgt Pepper , The Red Album and The Blue Album . I turned on the turntable and put on Sgt. Pepper listening to it on moderate noise for the first time ever on vinyl. It sounded AMAZING!!! I was mind blown and from that moment on I totally enjoyed my stay. I spend the time there listening to Pepper, Rubber and Red all the while having dinner and talking to the folks.
Naturally I took pics of the Beatles vinyls.
Going to be there again on Friday, listening to Blue

Saw the Beatles advent calendar in Glasgow at a reduced price of £55, I didn’t buy it.
Also heard John signing ‘Woman ’ and some Beatles medley not sung by the Beatles ( ‘And Your Bird Can Sing ‘ was what caught my heard and that overflowed into ‘Get Back ‘). What was more surprising was the medley was running slow in comparison to the proper versions.

Was watching historian Mary Beard being interviewed on the BBC about the 70th anniversary of the Queen coming to the throne, and the changes that she has seen during her reign. One of the things she mentioned that when Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II was that Lennon and McCartney were still a few years away from their first meeting.
