Portugal totally did not copy Paul’s song ‘Waterfalls’ in the Eurovision, they certainly did not….

I watched the biopic on Helen Reddy and Linda is mentioned quite a bit as an unseen character (she was a friend of Reddy’s rock journalist friend, Lillian Roxon – probably the best surname for a music journalist ever). As for the film it’s alright, typical biopic 7/10.

Last year when Summer arrived I did wear a new Beatles Shirt, white with the A Hard Days Knighs Heads. Ordered it with some others from http://www.emp.de

During my break I was on the way to the post office. A guy in his 50’s or 60’s looked at me, smiled at me and gave me thumps up. Ended up asking me where I got the shirt from 🙂 Of course I told him 😉

Was at a restaurant on the beach on the Gulf coast of Florida and they had a live duo who were taking requests, so I asked them to play something by Tom Petty and they played “I Won’t Back Down” paul-mccartney-thumb_gif and later the guy sitting next to us asked them to play “Refugee” and they did, right as we were about to leave. I was of course singing along and as I walked out I looked the guy who’d requested in the eye and we yelled “DOOON’T HAFTA LIVE LIKE A REEEFUGEEE” together heart

but most importantly, between those two, they played “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones and I told them, “You played Rolling Stones, now you have to play some Beatles to balance out the force,” and he laughed and said, “That’s just what he was gonna do” (gesturing to the other guy in the duo) and he played Hey Jude and of course I sang along with the whole thing, who do you think I am mccartney-shrug_01_gif

Back in 2019 my girlfriend and I went for trip to London during our vacation. We were there in June of 2019.

First of all…I HATE flying. I cant put a foot into a plane. To get to the UK from Germany without plane is difficult. We get there by train through the channel tunnel from Brussel to London. Getting THERE was the hard part. We traveled by train all the way from home, lots of movies and TV shows watching.

Naturally as a Beatles Fan I wanted so see some Beatle Things in London. And of course we went to see the Abbey Road , the Studio, the Shop, the Crossing. It was mindblowing!!! There were so many people doing the crossing and of course I did it too multiple times.

In Madame Tussauds I met the Fab Four. They couldnt resist to get a pic with me 😉

I LOVED London. As someone who grew up with english pop culture (was a Spice Girls fan as boy, love Harry Potter…) this has been one of my most important and emotional trips.

We plan on going to Liverpool next year…if that pandemic is hopefully over more or less. I need to see that City.

Ah, yes, visiting those Beatles-related sites in London is magical. When @Ron Nasty and I were sitting on the kerb/curb across from 57 Wimpole Street and talking about the writing of I Want To Hold Your Hand , I found a coin on the ground. I still carry it with me everywhere.

I do hope you get to go to Liverpool, @KyleKartan. The Beatles’ Liverpool: The Complete Guide by Ron Jones is a great Liverpool guide. You will want to read through this thread before you go: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..es-places/

These are brilliant photos @KyleKartan. I’m glad you had a great time in London. I was born there, but moved to Oxfordshire when I was over a year old. I hope to go to Abbey Road in the future as I have not been before.

I enjoy Harry Potter as well. I have seen all of the films and read the books. The Spice Girls are my favourite British girl group. My sister and I have loved them since we were little.

I hope you go to Liverpool. It’s a great city and the people are friendly there.

Thanks for the tipps @Ahhh Girl ! I certainly will do that and check out the guide. The better we’re prepared the better we can plan our trip.

I’ve been eager to go to Liverpool ever since I’ve watched Paul in that Carpool video driving through the city and visiting all those places there. Plus I wanna go the the Beatles Story exibit and the Cavern!

Thank you for the complitments @Rube

London indeed was great. I think it was my best vacation ever. So many stuff I always wanted to do I finally could do.

It maybe sound funny but England holds something so magical for me. All those locations I know from stories, movies, songs. I’ve been trying to speak english since I was a young lad when I heard the first english songs (when I was 3 years old I’ve always wondered what Michael Jackson was saying). So when I was in London this was coming to a place I felt I knew so well when in fact I knew so little. Just getting good at choosing the correct penny coins was not easy a-hard-days-night-george-4

You should visit Abbey Road ! Its pretty magical to be there and just feel the magic there. All those people around are so nice and enthusiastic too. And its mindblowing walking that crossing.

Harry Potter is something I didnt get into as a kid but a young adult. My best friend got me into it when we met back in 2006. He was a huge fan and I started to get interested so I started watching the movies. Spice Girls was my main crush as a kid. Emma Bunton (who just got married (sadly for me)) was my big kid and teen crush. I collected her pics and watched only her when I saw the Girls in videos or live shows on the telli. She was (and is) just so cute and beautiful And I Love Her voice! Funny enough my long term girlfriend which Iam together with now for 6,5 years has the same attributes as her (beside the singing voice).

I really hope to get to Liverpool next year. We plan on going by ship. We want to travel with the Queen Mary 2 from Hamburg (Star Club Visit!!) to Southampton (another teen UK connection for me: Iam very interested in the whole TITANIC history since I saw the Cameron Film in 1997) and go to Liverpool from there, by train or ship. We have to figure this out. All this of course only if the pandemic gets better by then. Buts its over year from now so hopefully it will get better. We’ll get our second vaccine today finally.

Hope you do get to make it to Liverpool, @KyleKartan. It looks more possible with the UK having dropped restrictions on Europeans that have been double vaccinated apart from the French. And, well, they’re French.

Be sure to ask any questions you want when planning your trip. One bit of advice I’d give ahead of it, The Beatles Liverpool Museum on Mathew Street and The Casbah are more important to visit than The Beatles Story and The Cavern.

The Beatles Story used to be the go to for The Beatles in Liverpool, but it’s like a theme park and they have very few real items, while The Beatles Liverpool Museum is the real deal, run by Roag Best, brother of Pete, son of Neil Aspinall and Mona Best, it features a revolving exhibit of one of the biggest private collections of Beatles memorabilia known, including much that was given to him by, or was inherited from, Neil.

Roag also fronts The Casbah, the only place in Liverpool where you can walk into a club they played with it being exactly the same as the last time they were there, while The Cavern is a rebuild that’s further down the street than the original.

Hehe Emma indeed is pretty. She still looks amazing. I was so jealous of the people who were able to see them back in 2019 when they did their Reunion tour without Mrs. Beckham. Emma looked amazingly beautiful in her dresses and with that pink blond hair!

My girlfriend always wanted to travel with a big ship. So we thought about putting our goals together, Liverpool and ship travel. Its her job to figure out our route and hotels, I’ll figure out the sight seeing 🙂

Yes, Iam sure by next year we’ll be able to get to the UK without any trouble again. Maybe a third vac shot is required and that wouldnt stop me. I’m glad to have my 2 shots finally. I was waiting to get mine for a long time and Iam thankfull to finally be a little more safe.

And yes…who’d want the french 😉 ahdn_john_08_gifa-hard-days-night-paul-11

THX for the tipps! Sounds like you’re the guy to ask. a-hard-days-night-john-3 I’d write you a pm when things get clearer and we’re about to figure out details of the trip.

Honestly I want to see it ALL. Story, Cavern, Museum, Casban. If we get to Liverpool I wont be there that soon again so I’ll have to make use of it and see as much as possible. Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane , the Barber Shop, the Round About, …maybe even the fireman with a potrait of the queen and his clean fire engine 😉john-lennon-salute_gif

Also wanna see the statues of the fab four:

Not to mention walking into one of the 2 fabs themselves. Pretty sure though that this wont happen….

I heard My Sweet Lord playing in a pub while I went camping with my family and friends two years ago.

My family and I visited Liverpool for the second time in February 2020. We saw the Pier Head statues before we went to The Beatles Story and it was great. I bought a purple t-shirt with The Beatles logo, a Beatles Story reusable bag, a multi-coloured pencil, a souvenir guide about the museum, black socks, a ‘I Love The Beatles’ chocolate lolly and shortcake biscuits.

Afterwards, we visited the Tate Modern and The Museum Of Liverpool.

The next morning, I went to The British Music Experience which is the history of British music from 1945 to the present day. It included some Beatles items from the 60s. I had a brilliant time there and the staff were friendly.

I hope to go to The Casbah, The Cavern, John and Paul’s childhood homes, The Liverpool Beatles Museum and other Beatles related landmarks next time I’m in Liverpool.
