Caught a question on a repeat of ‘The Chase Celebrity Special’ during an advertisement break of whatever I was watching at the time which asked what Henry The Horse was doing in the ‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite ‘. The celeb, Geoff Hurst, guessed it correctly as he had no idea, the Chaser got it wrong. Idiots.

My French teacher plays the Classic Vinyl station on SiriusXM every day when we’re working in class and today “Here Comes The Sun ” came on, which was quite pleasant.

This Beatley moment happened yesterday, but it was amazing.
My history teacher was playing music while we worked again and asked the same kid from my earlier post (who I still haven’t talked to) to pick the music, saying “Hey *insert kid’s name with good taste in music here*, you have good taste in music, why don’t you pick the music today?” He then responded with “How about The Beatles?” My history teacher asked for an album and he said “Sgt. Pepper “. I said Revolver quietly in my seat, but no one could hear me. My teacher then started vocalizing with the opening guitar riff of the album and then started playing all of Sgt. Pepper in order!!!!! (Well, almost all of it. We only just finished Good Morning, Good Morning before class was over. )
One of the kids in the class was sarcastically said “The Beatles? Never even heard of them.” . I also ended up getting no work done, but it was worth it, especially considering how long it’s been since I’ve heard Sgt. Pepper all the way through.
About ten minutes before the end of class, I realized that we wouldn’t have enough time to listen to the entire album. I went over to my teacher to tell her about this and she said that if I reminded her on Monday we could finish up the album (it wouldn’t be the same, but at least I could get to hear A Day In The Life ). On my way out of class, I reminded her that Revolver was shorter.
Well, have a great day everyone!

So…we arrived at our AirBnb and the host hands us some postcards with the apartment details to send to our family. This is it:That was good omen for our visit. We had all of the usual Amsterdam fun and managed not to get run over by any of the thousands of bikes on the street. There is a restaurant next door to the apartment and we chatted every morning with Sig, the waitress there. She took a lot of interest in the Bay Area and wanted to know about California. Our last day in Amsterdam was an early May, Sunday morning and the weather was spring perfect. We told her we planned to spend the day in Vondelpark and she kind of laughed and said “After the long winter the people of Amsterdam will be in ecstasy today. I’m coming with you”! She tore off her apron, told her boss she was leaving, and off we went following her down the canal lane and into the city. After a while she stopped in front of an apartment house and ran up to see if her friend was home. She was and invited us to come up. Her friend seemed to be a seamstress and her walls were covered with macrame. She brought out some tea and some little round waffles for us to enjoy. We soon were back on our way and made it to the park around noon. Sig left us on a bench that faced some water fountains that were in the middle of a lake and wished us well. There were lots of people laying on the grass and the vibe was similar to the beach scene at home. It wasn’t long before I started feeling a little weird. The first feeling was like a warmth in my body that left me a little short of breath, followed by a sense of anticipation that something was about to happen. Everything kind of slowed down and I started to feel very, very happy If you are familiar with the instrumental Pepperland from the Yellow Submarine soundtrack, that was the mood. All of the colors in the park were so vivid and they were all were blending together under the marmalade skies. That’s when I realized we were very stoned. I came of age in the 60s so I’m not unfamiliar with drugs, but haven’t partaken since my last Dead concert in 92. I started to get a little paranoid (was it the tea, the waffle, did Sig actually tell me in the restaurant that the people of Amsterdam will be on ecstasy). My wife has no experience with drugs and I kind of looked at her from the corner of my eye to see how she was doing. She was smiling and staring at some people eating ice cream, so I didn’t say anything until the right moment. Every once in a while we would start laughing at nothing but the experience wasn’t overwhelming and we were able to leave the bench after a few hours. We left Amsterdam the next morning and stopped by the restaurant to ask Sig what was up, but she wasn’t working that day. Ok, I guess that was a sort of Beatley moment, with the exception that Sig isn’t a dentist.
When I downloaded the Amsterdam pictures from my phone, I was surprised to find a picture of Sig.
Update: During our family Christmas celebrations I was offering drinks to everyone and my adult nephew asked if I minded if he smoked some pot. We got to talking outside and I told him the story about our experience in Vondelpark/Pepperland . My wife joined the conversation and reminded me that when we are traveling, I have a tendency to participate in conversations that I have no idea what the other person is saying (either because of accent or a language I don’t speak). Usually the worst thing that happens is maybe I offer to buy a round and get the order completely wrong. She suspects that Sig asked us if we wanted to get high before we went up to her friends place and I nodded yes. This kind of makes sense, especially considering she was so careful to leave us in a comfortable and safe place in the park. Also should say, this isn’t really a circumstance anyone needs to worry about as drugs are expensive and not too many people (at least since the 60s) are giving them away.

@50yearslate, there’s a button maker in my school’s library, and since I’m in the library every study hall, I decided to finally utilize last week. I just had to print out the pics I wanted (after editing them down to button size in photoshop) and then used the button maker.

Today I heard on the CBS prince Harry is collaborating with Bon Jovi and British soldiers for a song at Abbey Road . When mentioning about Abbey Road they mentioned The Beatles of course.
Later today at I was helping my client get dressed and she told me she didn’t want her clothes to go all helter skelter. I muttered the guitar riff under my breath, but luckily she didn’t have her hearing aids in yet. I work in home care with typically elderly people. This one is 92 and likes The Beatles although I think it was a coincidence about the helter skelter part.

An oft heard line on the BBC today, as Harry is into his final round of engagements as a senior royal, has been that he has a long and winding road ahead of him…

Will there be no reply from Her Majesty when Harry calls her back again with a basic shout of “help! Money, that’s what I want”.

I wonder how long can a story be made from all Beatles songs for Harry’s situation. With so many titles it has to be massive.

1) Today I was quite surprised when my friend Adam (who had never mentioned any interest in the Beatles) complimented my Beatley stickers on my laptop (One says “Take a sad song and make it better” and the other says “I Got Blisters On Me Fingers!” ) in our Sales and Marketing class. We were working on something and he looked at my laptop and said “Wow I never noticed those before” and started talking about how his profile picture for all his accounts used to be Ringo (and during Christmas: Ringo with a photoshopped Santa hat).
2) My AP English teacher is getting married tomorrow to my calculus teacher and I told both of them that I’m never coming to class again if they don’t have a Beatles song on their wedding playlist. I was joking, but then my English teacher reassured me that “Something ” is definitely queued up. I then congratulated her, gave her a hug, and then started to go off-topic and complain about how bad I think I did on the in-class, timed synthesis essay we had to write today on the death penalty…

This afternoon, I had a friend over for tea, and I had put all of my songs on shuffle in the background. Right as she was talking about her coworker whose name was Diamond, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds came on.
