Offline At my school, a song is always playing on the morning announcements before school starts. So far, they’ve played Here Comes The Sun , Yesterday and Help !. All they need now is a Ringo song!
Of course, whenever they play a Beatles song I get way too overexcited. As far as solo careers go, they’ve only played Wonderful Christmastime this past week. Also, congratulations on your swim meet @lovelyritametermaid!

Offline I’ve heard some pretty ‘unusual’ Beatle songs on the radio recently. Across The Universe when I was driving home from a class. Both You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away and Help ! when I was coming home from the dentist.
I was in a pub on Wednesday night, feasting on a massive toasted sandwich to steady myself before my exams and they played Come Together and Here Comes The Sun , I took it as a sign, the exam went “alright (dodododododododo)”

Recently, my friends and I were playing mafia and it was my turn to kill of someone (don’t worry, in mafia). I said that one of my friends was tied to a chair and was forced to listen to Revolution 9 backwards at full volume (). One of my friends who doesn’t know the Beatles very well asked me about Revolution 9 so I sent it to her. I’m still waiting to see her reaction. I hope it doesn’t turn her off from the Beatles, they are so much more than Revolution 9 
.
(No hate to Revolution 9 , in my opinion it is an interesting collection of sounds, just not a song. It would be interesting if it didn’t drag on for eight and a half minutes.)
EDIT: My fried listened to Revolution 9 . She said that it was weird at first because it was just people talking, but it got better as the song went on. I asked her which she thought was weirder, Revolution 9 or I Am The Walrus . She said that, and I quote, “nothing can beat I Am The Walrus “.

Offline The school has been playing Christmas music in the cafeteria over the PA system, which means Wonderful Christmastime is pretty much on repeat. Over. And over. And over again.

Offline I was watching Love Actually for the first time today and there was a line something like “Even the weird musicians get the girl– Ringo Starr married a Bond girl” which had me dying. The Ringo-deprecation humor isn’t original or uncommon, but still, I love it whenever random TV shows or movies reference the Beatles. (Also, the little boy Sam in the film is played by the same actor who would grow up and later play a young McCartney in Nowhere Boy, one of my favorite films, which really made me happy.)
Oh, and I was watching an old episode of SNL with Paul in it that had me cracking up laughing. I highly recommend trying to find and watch the whole thing.

Offline ^I was watching the one where Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were hosting and at the end everyone started singing a song (I think it was Jingle Bells?) and PAUL CAME OUT WITH SOME KIND OF HANDHELD PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT THAT I DON’T REMEMBER SPECIFICALLY!!! And I was so confused because he wasn’t even the musical guest! But also very happy, because PAUL and SNL and also AMY POEHLER!!! So that was fun.
anyway.
The other day we went for dinner at my dad’s friends’ and there was a framed Revolver cover on the wall.

Offline I went to a sports bar/live music venue to meet with some old high school classmates. A drummer and a man singing and playing guitar sang And Your Bird Can Sing . I yelled, “Beatles.” It was an automatic, uncontrollable reaction. I guess they got the hint that I really, really, really like the Beatles. I got 6 more Beatles songs that night. When they launched into I Saw Her Standing There , the place erupted. I was overwhelmed with happiness at the reaction of the masses to that song.

Offline Well everyone, I finally did it. I wore a Beatles shirt to school. This may not seem like a big deal, but coming from an insecure teenager who avoids social interaction and whose wardrobe is 90% t-shirts from musicals that I’ve been in, this is a step up. One of my friends walked up to me, said “GOO GOO G’JOOB” and walked away. Of course, this is the same friend that said “Nothing can beat I Am The Walrus “, which I mentioned in my earlier post. Another friend said “What the #@*& is your shirt!?” Looking back, I can see the reasoning behind her words as she probably only saw the part that said “The Beatles Are Coming!” and the top of the American flag.
In the end, the world didn’t explode like I thought it would!
Thanks for reading my nonsense rant, and at this point, you all probably think that I’m crazy for obsessing this much over a shirt. Oh well.
