Went out for a meal with some friends at the weekend. As I was looking through the dessert menu (I went for Eton Mess, which was amazing), something told me to look at the fine print at the bottom of the menu. When I did, I saw this:

Don’t forget to check out our Glass Onion app.

I started laughing and everyone was looking at me. Awkward a-hard-days-night-john-7

@Father McKenzie Your story is all too familiar (but with Strawberry Fields tic tacs)

I couldn’t wait to tell you guys this, but I had to wait until I got back to the hotel because I don’t have an international SIM card.

I landed in Liverpool very early this morning. I decided to go for a walk and passed a busker who was playing piano on a corner. As I was yet to convert my money from US dollars to pounds, I didn’t have anything to give him, so I rather regretfully passed him. I happened to be wearing a Beatles shirt (yes, cliche, but I pretty much only wear Beatles and Harry Potter based clothing in general). He must have seen it because he changed into the piano intro of “You Never Give Me Your Money .” I immediately turned around and went back to watch the rest of his performance.

I also found a pound to give him!

oh happy day :):):):)

My neighbour, who plays guitar in a non-soundproof shed so loudly people 4 houses up can hear, who almost exclusively plays the same Hendrix riff for hours on end…

My neighbour just started playing Day Tripper !beatlemaniacs_02_gif

A few days in Liverpool, then a few in London, and then to check out a couple other places. Almost 2 weeks in Europe total.

I saw footage of the Hong Kong protests with violence, and said ‘that’s the Revolution that Revolution 9 was trying to depict via sound collage’.

That’s a vivid description. In fact, many participants use “Lennon walls” as a form of protest—pieces of words that express their demands are gathered on a wall. The original one is in the University of Hong Kong and indeed named after John.

@Ahhh Girl Usually, yes. I remember that shortly after this movement began, some random people rushed into HKU and tore many pieces of paper on the Lennon wall to the ground. Offended by this incident, protesters opened up new Lennon walls around the city for people to express their opinions.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 That needs to be a thing. Get AG her BBJacket, stat!

I heard someone playing ‘End of the Line’ by Travelling Wilburys and ‘Lady Madonna ‘ and ‘Revolution ‘ by you know who rather loudly and obnoxiously at the campground, which I had mixed feelings about: on one hand, I felt it was deeply uncool because one does not simply blast music at this type of campground, which is meant to be more of a nature getaway, but I was also quite pleased because it was Beatley. a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Walking past a pub in Dundee with Karaoke blasting out the doors and someone doing ‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko ’!!!

If you gave me 100 opportunities to name ‘Beatles Songs Played Anywhere’ I wouldn’t opt for ‘TBOJAY’ never mind pub karaoke.

Last week, I went into a weird little coffee shop that was inside of a museum while waiting for someone. I very nearly left, but I saw a sign on the tip jar that said “Good instant karma!” so I stayed. I was glad a did, because just as I sat down, Oh Yoko! started playing. I had but a few minutes to wonder why they would pick that, of all songs, as the coffee shop was fairly crowded and it’s not a very well-known song, before I’d Have You Anytime started playing. It was pretty quiet, and I was extremely tempted to shush everyone so I could actually hear it. Then, before the first verse was over, the person I was waiting for found me and practically had to drag me out because I wanted to stay for the rest of the song.

That reminds me of the other day when my friends and I were in a bookshop that kept playing Radiohead songs and so, like @meanmistermustard, we had to wait till a song finished and skip out before another started and compelled us to stick around any longer. a-hard-days-night-john-6
