I’m not much of a fan of band t-shirts, but sometimes I like to find a t-shirt with an unrelated reference or pun. For example sometimes when I’m in Monki and find some t-shirts with lemon patterns I’m like “maybe I should buy it some day because, you know John Lemon/Lennon.”

@Capri I have a rather subtle Pink Floyd shirt that has a pig on it, like this one worn by the band’s guitarist David Gilmour on the tour for the album Animals which contained the songs ‘Pigs (Three Different Ones)’ and ‘Pigs On The Wing’ parts 1 and 2:

Your comment put me in mind of that kind of thing. I like those subtle types of references too, like having a Beatley shirt with ‘Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf-Aids’ on it.

I saw a lad on the tube wearing Yellow Sub socks, one sock had a Blue Meanie pattern, the other featured Jeremy Hillary Boob Ph.D.

Hey Jude ’ is a popular football song at a good number of  teams in England, generally sung before beginning the first and/or second half of each game.

Was at a large garden centre last weekend where ‘All You Need Is Love ’ was piped thru their sound system. Cheerfully enough they had a number of speakers thru-out so could hear the whole song whilst walking about. Went back to ignoring every other song after it finished.

Today (Ringo’s Birthday ), I was crossing the street in downtown Boston when I heard Maxwells Silver Hammer blasting out of one of the cars I was walking by.

Went through the McDonald’s drive through because my friend wanted food, and they were playing Jet on the outside speakers.

I just went on a tour of this publishing company and saw one book about John and Yoko, one book about The Beatles in India, one book about Ravi Shankar, and one book about British rock which had a little picture of the Beatles on the cover (and also a picture of our friend David ahdn_george_06)

Two days ago, the Wall Street Journal turned 130. To commemorate the date, they put out a compilation of historically significant articles. I was ecstatic to observe that this was a major feature on one of its pages:

The use of the word “concern” in the article is brilliant.
