But you see lots of Chinese tourists in London and Liverpool wearing Beatles t-shirts!!! Do they burn them before they go home?

And, hey, aren’t lots of Beatles t-shirts made in China?

Now that I think of it, I saw a senior at my school with a Help shirt under his uniform last year (the school shirts are basically see-through). I never spoke to him because, y’know, it would be awkward. a-hard-days-night-ringo-12

Today we had a sub in science who showed us a super boring documentary about the most important scientific discoveries ever made. I already knew everything, so I pretty much spaced out until they started talking about Lucy the early human, and how she got her name. They even played Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds for a few seconds!

Yesterday somebody asked me what my favorite insect was (kind of a strange question but oh well) and without thinking I said “BEETLE.” Or was it “BEATLE?”a-hard-days-night-george-10

Today me and my family got into an argument about SFF and Penny Lane . I ended up making a frustrated and not very well thought through comment saying that “there’s probably a barber on every street in Liverpool anyway!” My brother then told me that I would have to calculate the number of barbers per street in Liverpool to prove a claim that I didn’t even mean, using only Google Maps. I like math, but I already have a huge pile of math homework and now I have to count the number of streets in Liverpool (is there an easier way to do that?) It’s going to be a long, long night…

I wish anyone else in my family was that passionate about the Beatles.  Everyone in my family likes them, but they’re not as invested in it.

Well, it’s mostly my brother (and only because I got him into them in the first place).

Well done. I originally caught the Beatles bug* from my dad, but ended up way eclipsing him and brainwashing my little sister. a-hard-days-night-john-6

Same here, except I have yet to eclipse him. (Knowledge-wise, that is. Obsession-wise, no one in my family comes close to beating me a-hard-days-night-george-10)

I think if anything it was probably my brother that got me into them originally.  My Dad liked them for sure, but my brother getting the Rockband game and playing it a lot was what made me really like them.  Beyond the songs on there and some of the other classics,  I discovered their other songs on my own, much later.

Same. Me and my brother have gotten each other into a lot of different music, but he’s admitted to me that even though he has introduced me to a lot more music, I still win because I made him a Beatles fan. heart

I basically gave up trying to change people’s minds a while back. People need to see the light themselves, otherwise it means nothing. Before the revelation people are too stuck in their belief systems. It can be a lonely and frustrating way of viewing the world but it’s just how things are.

So are you trying to say that getting into The Beatles through another person instead of Google makes you less of a fan? What is the difference?

Yeah that’s not really what I meant by what I said.  When I said “wish” I meant “oh that’d be cool” not “I want to change their minds about it.”  There’s not much to change their minds about anyway.  They already like them, but they’re not obsessed.mccartney-shrug_01_gif

I didn’t get that at all. I understood the statement as, unless someone figures out within themselves the greatness of the Beatles, they’re not going to get it just because someone they know talks about the band a lot. In other words,
Try to realise it’s all within yourself
No one else can make you change
