It was definitely Paul mate . Was the radio playing Mull Of Kintyre ?
Couldn’t quite hear what was playing and reluctant to go any closer for fear of being attacked by either a ram or an old English sheepdog….

Pretty farm, I thought Paul sold it though (or at the very least never visits anymore) because it carries too many painful memories?

It was on the market for a while but I don’t know whether or not it was sold. Yes, it’s a very pretty farm with lovely sea views from parts of the farmland, but not from the house itself…..
After falling down umpteen times getting there, some of our memories are also rather painful…..

The other day I went to Barnes & Noble for a Beatles book, and ended up checking out right next to someone purchasing a Sgt. Pepper one LOL.

As soon as the lyric “every ladder leads to heaven” from Sing the Changes started playing, I pulled up a book in the catalog titled “Broken ladder : how inequality affects the way we think, live, and die”.
Quiver. Excitement. Paul McCartney is a ladder to heaven.

I am cataloging this book for my library: Capture : Unraveling the Mystery of Mental Suffering by David A. Kessler.
Part 2 “When capture leads to violence” has a chapter titled “The Murder of John Lennon .”

Another find while cataloging books…
The first chapter of We Wanted Workers : Unraveling the Immigration Narrative by George J. Borjas is titled Lennon’s Utopia.
First paragraph of the chapter:
In John Lennon ‘s iconic Imagine , he urged his listeners to imagine a world without countries. He immediately followed this plea with the assertion that such a mental exercise would not be hard to do. I have been a lifelong Beatles fan, and I have a still-sealed copy of the “butcher” album acquired decades ago to prove it. But it is clear that Lennon’s claim about how easy it would be to imagine life in his borderless utopia was far off base. What exactly would a world without national borders look like?
No time to read the rest of the chapter. Gotta keep trucking to the rest of the books on my cart. But, dang, a sealed butcher cover album!

I’m getting the stage in life where I’m going to some university open days to get an idea of what my future might be like, and one of my interests is sound production…
Yesterday I went to another open day, and… It turns out that Abbey Road Studios have an offshoot called Abbey Road Institute, and one of those branches is here in Melbourne! They offer a sound production course, and the graduation ceremony is in Abbey Road Studio Two…
The course sounds really good too, so I’m not ruling it out either!

Mildly jelly @The Hole Got Fixed. I’ve been poking at the idea of going into sound production too.

I was watching an old friend’s snapchat story, and it was a video of her laughing while listening to Octopus’s Garden and her friend telling her “it’s a great song” (she captioned the video “wtf is this”). I told her to stop hating because Octopus’s Garden is a masterpiece and it’s written by Richard Starkey, and she told me that changes everything and she now has a better appreciation for the song.
She got a lot of exposure to fun facts about Richy in a ceramics class we had together in high school when I made a bust of him. I guess you could say I made her a fan (at least of Richy as a persona).
I think I’ve said this before, but my current ceramics teacher plays a large variety of music in class, and there’s not a day of class where I don’t hear Beatles or post-Beatles songs. I’ve even heard more obscure ones play, like the Anthology version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps , Real Love , I Dig Love , Steel And Glass … It always makes me happy.

Shopping and lunch date with my husband today. Twice we got back in the car after going somewhere and a Beatles / Solo Beatles song was playing – My Sweet Lord and Come Together 🙂
