I was watching the episode of Law and Order the other day that is about a data harvesting company that sold information to someone who then killed his psychotherapist.Jack McCoy’s assistant read off the information she found out about Jack. He likes to listen to The Beatles and jazz fusion.
I saw that episode before May 26, 2013. The Beatles reference went right over my head. Now I catch those Beatley moments.
I totally know what you mean! I get all the Beatles jokes now, I feel so… included. I was watching Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and he made a joke involving Yoko being his favourite Beatle and I pretty much died laughing.

Offline I went out for tea two nights ago, and my 6th Beatley sense realised the original version of Please Mister Postman came onto the radio!
Then I went out again last night… and the bass was loud, but everything else got lost in the noise… but I still managed to hear Strawberry Fields Forever at one point!

Offline Last month, Pat DiNizio of the Smithereens, one of my musical idols, died. This evening, there was a memorial concert to raise money for a music scholarship named after him. The event was live-streamed. Pat and the Smithereens made no secret about being huge Beatles fans. Here were a couple Beatley moments from the tribute concert.
1. Members of the Smithereens and the Grip Weeds (a rather Beatley band name, by the way) performed All Things Must Pass .
2. The band performed Please Please Me .
3. Guitarist Jim Babjak incorporated a few notes from Don’t Let Me Down into the Smithereens’ biggest hit A Girl Like You.

Offline Continuing on from a few nights ago – yesterday, I went out for lunch, and lo and behold… They played FOUR Beatles songs! They were With A Little Help From My Friends , a gap of 20 minutes, Birthday , immediately followed by Piggies , and just as we were leaving (I stopped to hear the whole thing), Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da. I’m going back for lunch there today, so I have high hopes!

Offline I was writing a beatley fanfic with my slightly beatley friend who tolerates my obsession because she likes writing with me, and I made a reference to the jelly bean throwing, directed at George, of course. But then she changed it so George only showed up at the end, and the jelly bean reference made earlier was directed towards Ringo instead of George. That was wrong, I noticed immediately, this is a George thing. So I spent ten minutes proving that it was a George thing, coming up with a couple quotes and presenting it on our shared Google Doc like a case in court when she wasn’t even online. She is going to be very confused and slightly scared by my beatlemania.

Offline The new 50 Shades movie has yer man Jamie Dornan singing ‘Maybe I’m Amazed ‘, to be fair he does a pretty decent job of it. Probably the only ‘good’ scene in the film.
And if you’re asking why I saw it, it’s become a Valentine’s Day tradition for my friends and I to go to it and laugh our heads off. I am so sad that it’s stopped this year, Valentine’s Day will never be the same again.
The first time we went to it I was 17, my friends were 16, and it was an 18’s film. I’m pretty sure I did a write-up about how hilarious it turned out when we got caught by the manager. I’m sure if you looked deep enough in the forum, you’d find it.
