I was catching up on Caught in Providence (a show about minor court cases, speeding, parking etc. and the judge is very entertaining).
Anyways, a woman got in trouble for parking and she was wearing a Beatles t-shirt which led to Judge Caprio recalling his own Beatley-tale.

I was at a Dreaded Social Function last night (, it actually wasn’t that bad, especially the food) and among the songs played that I recognised and like were (in this order) ‘Starman’ by David Bowie (me: Ooh Starman! *Gets into conversation with host about the album and Bowie evicting Jimmy Page out his dining room window, which was pretty much the only conversation I had all evening*) ‘Revolution ‘ by The Beatles (‘This playlist just keeps getting better and better’), ‘Take On Me’ by A-Ha, ‘Good Times Bad Times’ by Led Zeppelin (heard the first two notes — ‘HELL YEAH, HERE’S MY ZEPP’ ), and ‘All Along The Watchtower’ by Jimi Hendrix ()
I got up and danced to ‘Take On Me’ and ‘Good Times Bad Times’, as well as some other songs I didn’t know but seemed groovy enough. The latter in particular featured lots of heartfelt headbanging and badly singing along.

We saw Depeche Mode a couple of days ago, and one of their new songs is called Where’s the Revolution ? They started their concert by dimming the lights and playing “Revolution ” by The Beatles–not a cover by them, but a recording of the actual Beatles song. I thought it was really nice.

I was broken out of a daydream during French class when I heard keyword “Beatles.” The class was naming 60s bands, and of course The Beatles were the first named. My professor wrote les scarabees on the board meaning “The Beatles” in french, prompting me to argue that he should technically spell it les scarabea to preserve the Beat pun in the name.
He accused me of not getting his joke, but I said that he didn’t understand the joke in the name.

I hope the teacher finally understands and makes a comment on how smart you are in the next class.

I was sitting in a pub/restaurant yesterday when the extended mix of ‘Got My Mind Set On You’ came on, which was a surprise. I’ve heard the standard mix enough times out and about but never the 12″ mix.

A radio talk show I was listening to yesterday brought up the topic of Hugh Hefner’s passing. The conversation then turned to “If you could live someone else’s life, who’s would it be?”. For various reasons, my mind went directly to Paul McCartney . After one of the show’s hosts rattled off a few names, the other host replied, “How could it not be Paul McCartney ?”.

I agree! Except for that unfortunate stretch between 2002-2006. But I guess into each life a little rain must fall.

I saw a couple of Abbey Road shirts at the Roger Waters concert. Almost wished I had worn a Beatles shirt.

No, Silly Girl. We’re taking about Paul McCartney . You were supposed to think of this song.

I saw Paul McCartney this past Tuesday… He didn’t read my sign out loud, but he looked at it, read it and after we made eye contact for a second. Christ… I still cant absorb this… Later, he read my second sign (I had 3 signs, also again not out loud) that said “Can I have a piece of your hair? It’s my dream to always have a piece of you with me.” He just made this weird gesture thingy and shrugged, it was adorable. Also he wiggled his butt. At the audience. In the middle of my favorite song. It was truly an honor to be on the receiving end of Paul’s butt-wiggling. I’m so worried bc the post-concert depression hasn’t set in yet… and later in the hotel, when I was looking for a pin that fell off my dress, I met the two guitarists in Paul’s band. I asked them to say hi for me, and told them my name. I would’ve asked for an autograph, but I left my purse in the hotel room when I went to look for my pin. I may have lost one of my beloved Beatles pins that day, but Paul might know my name if those two kept their promise, so it was totally worth it!

Good Lord, MadisonMcCartney2267, you have made eye contact with Paul McCartney AND he probably knows your name now? That’s bloody awesome!!! What a cool story!
Who knows, maybe you’ll find the pin on the hotel floor next morning next to a strand of hair…

I am tickled with glee for you, MadisonMcCartney2267!
I made eye contact with THE MAN at the concert I went to this year. Oh, those magic eyes. Pulling birds to him for over 50 years!
What did your first sign say?

While I was on my road trip, I had two Beatley moments (apart from doing another Beatles marathon in the car):
