You need to disown your mum…Well that seems a little extreme…
Not at all – everyone should be able to tell the difference between Helter Skelter and Norwegian Wood !

@The Hole Got Fixed, I don’t think I can disown her. Sorry. Although, one time she was listening to a tv station that played 60s/70s music, and she told me she heard a Beatles song that she didn’t know the name of. Later, while were listening to the same station, she said they were playing it again. Except, it wasn’t a Beatles song. It was She’s A Rainbow by the Rolling Stones.
Anywho, I was playing the Higher or Lower Game, and the matchup of Burberry and Yoko Ono came up. John was in the picture with Yoko.

I’d go for a legally binding court order demanding ownership of the house, a car and $25k a year until she learns to differentiate a Beatles song from a Rolling Stones.

I saw Creedence Clearwater Revisited tonight. Stu Cook worked a little bit of Day Tripper into the solo of I Heard It Through The Grapevine.

Today my pre MTC trainer saw the Beatles Bible on my bookmarks bar and asked what it was. She also said how she loved the Beatles. I told her what the site was, and she said that she’d have to check it out.

So I was watching an episode of a TV program (hosted by James May), and he made 4 references to the Beatles.
1) He talked about the Beatles making the bug time
2) He walked across Abbey Road
3) He sang Mull Of Kintyre
4) He said ‘we had *band* at *venue*, *band* at *venue*, and the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl…’
What a great episode!
EDIT: and in the next episode, they used the final orchestra run and the final chord of A Day In The Life .

Wow! There must be something in the air ’cause yesterday in English class we watched a movie that was also crammed with Beatles references (but a bit more far fetched)!
First, in the advertisement, before the movie started, there was a man running past a poster of John (him on the cover of Power To The People ).
Then, in the actual movie, two main characters were called Paul and Mr Harrison.
Furthermore, there was Boys playing in the background in a dance scene (but The Shirelles’ version as it was 1961).
Then, in one scene two friends met at the door of a building which one of them was leaving and the other was about to enter. Therefore, they greeted each other with ‘Hello, Goodbye ‘.
The funny thing was, that additionally, the same day someone had written ‘All You Need Is Love ‘ on the board and a girl on the yard was reading a book called ‘Across The Universe ‘.

I saw a Lennon Street and a guy with an Abbey Road T-shirt.
Let It Be played at a restaurant — my ears recognised it from the first note, of course, but my mind didn’t want to believe it until it had verified.

Paul McCartney Blvd. is the name of a small street near the venue I was just at.
Another one from tonight: at the concert I was at tonight the guy played a decent amount of Beatles. Mad respect.

This happened a while ago, but I forgot to post it. I was over at the farther away record store and there was a display of the Beatles 2009 remaster vinyls because they were on sale for $18.99 a piece. When I looked at the price tags, the 8 was a bit faded so it looked like $1.99. I almost grabbed every record on the shelf until I got closer and read the real price.

Today in school the girl next to me listened to some music on her phone in the break and because I’m always super curious when it comes to music I asked her what band she listened to. She told me it was her brother’s band and that they’re called ‘Waves Of Joy’. My heart skipped a beat at this name and I timidly asked whether she knows if this name was inspired by a Beatles song. It turned out, her brother is indeed a massive Beatles fan and therefore named his band after this line from Across The Universe .
Later I had a guitar trial lesson at the music school and at the beginning, the teacher asked me what music I’m into and before I could phrase a sophisticated phrase in my head ‘I love the Beatles’ burst out of me. He was immediately thrilled and told me the Beatles are his favourite band too and the only one of which he can listen to a certain song and after the ending already hear the beginning of the next song on the album in his head (boy, how I could relate to that!) and best of all his favourite album was also Revolver !
Isn’t it amazing how one encounters plenty of Beatles fans wherever one goes?! (By the way, the other two favourite bands of this guitar teacher were Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd… guess of which two BBers I had to think when I heard this!)

My piano and sometimes guitar instructor doesn’t like Pink Floyd. Its a little baffling to talk to him about it, because he knows so much but so little at the same time
