I was listening to Get a Life by Julian Lennon on the way home from work today, and during the bridge there was a bit of “La la la” ala You Won’t See Me .
To be or not to be, I don't care
The question is, Are you alive out there?
It don't take brains, Just heart and soul
I think, therefore I rock 'n roll.

I saw a business card today for an antiques shop called Sentimental Journey. My eyes also found a John Lennon puzzle.

One of my teachers was showing the class a book about the experiences of someone who grew up behind the Iron Curtain. In the book were illustrations, which the teacher showed to us and told us what they were.

The Beatles did live behind the iron curtain from one perspective.

Passed a car with a vanity plate reading “Fab 4” over the weekend, prompting my son to ask what “Fab 4” means…and I felt a little like I had failed as a parent.
I’m glad he asked! A teaching moment for sure.
BTW, have you seen this thread: Getting your kids into The Beatles

I had not seen that thread, thank you.
He taught himself to play I Am The Walrus on keyboards and is fascinated by the opening chord of A Hard Day’s Night – very musical kid – so he is off on the right foot…

I heard an apPaulling cover of ‘Wonderful Christmastime ‘ at the shop today.
I wish they’d just played the original. I can’t check it off of my annual life list till they do.

I’ve heard so many horrible covers of Beatles songs, and other classic artists’ songs that people prefer over the original. My sister was listening to these horrible covers yesterday and it was making me ill.

Sitting in media class yesterday; minding my own business. I took a peek at the teacher’s iTunes which had been left open on the computer, and what did I see?

I saw Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for the first time this morning. I was very pleased about all the people at the parade dancing to Ferris singing Twist And Shout

Whaaa you hadn’t seen Ferris until now?!?!
If I had got my licence before I finished secondary school my friends and I were going to take a Day Off and go to Galway or something but alas I didn’t get it until 6 months after and there’s no point doing it in college (curses!!!)

I was wandering around my local thrift store when I saw a glass apple with a photo of cartoon Paul (from Yellow Submarine ) encased inside of it.
It was pretty cool, but I can’t seem to find a picture on Google of one like it.

Are you sure it wasn’t a Glass Onion ?
If you’ve seen the movie and the photo came from a scene you can remember, Google is smart enough to work out which scene you mean and might find the photo.

The Beatles make an appearance at #3 in the BBC article ‘6 times music fans broke the law for bands they love‘
The 1975’s Matt Healy is fast learning that the divide between having a private and public life blurs the more famous you become, and in September he suffered the shock of having fans attempting to break into his hotel room in Mexico. They failed, but there have been many incidents of successful – and highly illegal – intrusions into the private sanctuaries of pop stars in the past, not least when Apple scruffs (hardcore Beatles obsessives) entered Paul McCartney ‘s St John’s Wood, London home in 1969. One of the scruffs, Diane Ashley, is quoted in the Steve Turner book A Hard Day’s Write: The Stories Behind Every Beatles Song as saying: “We were bored, he was out and so we decided to pay him a visit. We found a ladder in his garden and stuck it up at the bathroom window which he’d left slightly open. I was the one who climbed up and got in.” McCartney wrote a song about the incident, She Came In Through The Bathroom Window , which was included on Abbey Road and became a Top 30 hit for Joe Cocker in 1970.
