There’s a place in town called Little Star Club I wonder if they realize the significance of that name.

This vintage shop in my town had two John Lennon shirts in the window. Like, proper vintage John Lennon shirts. Of course they were sold out already.

I was complimented for listening to the Beatles whilst getting on the bus this morning. The lady wondered how I was a fan as I was young.

Just finished watching two documentary films in a row on the local tv :
1. “How The Beatles conquered USSR”
2. “The icon John Lennon “
I was thinking about John quiet a lot these days… And that second one left me in tears

Ah that happened to me the other day as well. This 68 year old guy punched me on the shoulder and said how amazing it was that I love the Beatles. It’s a musician we often bump into when walking the dog, not just some random old guy who came up to me.
Just watched an episode of Friends, the one where Phoebe is getting married to Mike, and her friend plays a song on the steel drum. She plays ”Here, There And Everywhere ”.

Yep, I’ve gotten that too. Once by an orthodontist (not my current one) who expressed surprise and said, ‘That’s my generation,’ when I stated the Beatles were my favourite music (this kinda irritated me); and once I saw an older gent who was wearing this Beatles t-shirt and duly complimented it, additionally recognising that the image was based upon the Beatles For Sale cover; he expressed considerable surprise at not only that I was a fan at my tender age, but that I could recognise the cover.

My family and I went on a vacation to Croatia and there was some Beatley moments there: There was a boy in front of me in the plane, he had a shirt that said Here comes the sun fun. We walked in to a gift shop with music boxes, some of them being Yesterday , Hey Jude , Let It Be and Imagine . The hotel played loads of instrumental Beatles music: ‘Till There Was You , Eleanor Rigby , The Long And Winding Road , And I Love Her and the real Don’t Let Me Down . We went to a market where we found an Abbey Road mug, my brother bought. We also found a Beatles shirt which is supposed to be for a twelve year old, but it fits me perfectly.

Paul features twice (tho both are in the same entry so technically its 11) in the BBC’s ‘10 of rock’s greatest lost treasures‘ article as does the promo clip for ‘Revolution .
There aren’t many musical instruments that truly attain iconic status, but Paul McCartney ‘s left handed Höfner bass guitar is one of them. He first bought one in Hamburg in 1961, playing it through all the gruelling nights as The Beatles came together as a working unit, and on into the Cavern Club and their early recordings and British tours. He was given a newer version in 1964, so his original became a spare. He later had it resprayed, and it reappeared briefly when the band performed Revolution on David Frost’s TV show in 1968, but it was stolen from the subsequent sessions for the Let It Be album and film, and has not been seen since.
And there’s another valuable item of Macca lost property out there somewhere: the demo cassettes he made for the Wings album Band On The Run . As he recounts fully in this greatBBC Radio 4 Mastertapes special (from 15 minutes in), Paul and his wife Linda were in Lagos, ready to start recording, and decided to walk back to their lodgings after a night out. A gang in a passing car pulled over and stole all of their possessions at knifepoint and the tapes went with them. He then had to remember his entire album from scratch.

This is more of a weird many-moments strung together.
The place where I work plays really good music: all the old classics up to the 80’s and then the sparse modern pop songs that are decent. They play John Lennon but that’s as far back as they go. It pained me because the one thing lacking was The Beatles.
Today when I heard the opening riff of Revolution , I almost cried. I almost cried again because a customer who had mentioned Paul McCartney to me before was whistling the song.

I bought two of those in Monaco, the Let It Be and Hey Jude versions, I don’t think they had Yesterday but I know they had Imagine . I only wanted 2 of them though because they were expensive enough.
They’re very pretty sounding, in particular LIB (which is one of my favourite Beatles’ songs anyways).
That and I wish I could go to Croatia, it looks gorgeous.

During my prom on Friday the music students played come together. My friend who is a massive Michael Jackson fan was like “hey that’s a Michael Jackson song” and when I corrected her she said she thought the Michael Jackson version was better. I just stared.
also the next two things happened before I joined the forum but anyway here we go:
since im in the performing arts section of my college (theatre to be exact, going to switch onto media though) there tends to be several moments where members of the company tend to burst out into song (because why not) and one boy said he needed help with note taking and then him and his group started singing help.
also when the higher level students did their Christmas play (which I was a part of even thoughh I’m a level one drama student) at one point in the play the main characters sung “With A Little Help From My Friends “.

Oh!! I found a tiny Yellow Submarine one in Nashville when I was up there for Ringo’s show. It was 8.99. Shall I make a quick video of it?

I was riding in the car with a couple of my friends and the kid with the aux kept playing Beatles songs and then the other kid asked him why he always plays such “shitty” music. The thing that confused me the most was the fact that she was singing along with all the Beatles songs.

Yep and I think it was the 2000-1000 range. Don’t remember the exact wording but it was like
“Which Beatles song made number two in 1968 that also was the name of a Beatles animated movie?”

There is no “”Beatles song made number two in 1968 that also was the name of a Beatles animated movie?”
‘Yellow Submarine ‘ was 1966.
Oh to be petty.

I was backing my car out of the garage this morning and reached for the radio because I knew that Breakfast With The Beatles was on (3 Fab songs every weekday morning at 7:10). Right before the audio kicked in, I had a strong sense/feeling about the word “darling”. It made me think I was going to hear ‘Oh! Darling ” as one of the three songs. Just then, mid-song, I heard the lines from ‘Golden Slumbers ‘:
…darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby.
My skin tingled.

Speaking of Jeopardy, the other day the question was “Beatle song pertaining to an amusement park, later a famous book.”
I forget if it also said “1968” (Easy question for a Brit, tough for an American.)
And today, in the “Military Men” category, “20 years ago today, this military man taught the band to play.”
